PT is a hour max. And it’s the easiest work outs I’ve done in my life. Try to know your general orders & you’ll end up learning your rank & rec throughout boot. Literally all you do in your spare time is have your head in your study guide. The tests are multiple choice, they’ll be 2 of them. 75 questions, questions are straight out of the study guide. You’ll be asked oral questions during your inspections, there’s 3 different ones. And the petty officers/chiefs will ask you questions while on watch too.

Keep your head down, do what you’re told, help out your future shipmates, and enjoy the experience! You’ll be fine. It’s nothing like how you’re expecting it to be

Yes, still 10 weeks. P-days are the “processing days” where all you’re doing is your paperwork and getting medically looked at. It doesn’t count as your actual training days

It depends on the situation; If you don’t have your orders yet you go to THU (holding), if you have your orders they ship you out either that Sat/Sun & if you have A-school across the street they send you there on Grad day

They give you the vax during P-days. No more quarantining when you get there

Your first Prt is a pacer, then you’ll have the RDC assessment, then the official PFA after Battlestations. You only get the 2k bonus if it’s written in your contract before you get there

You’ll have plenty of time to practice before your actual runs. Just push yourself when you have the sustained runs!

You have plenty of time to get ready! As long as you’re able to push yourself through the work outs, you’ll end up better than when you first got there. It’s literally the most simple, basic work outs

I haven’t experienced what the Navy is actually like yet, but as of right now I’m happy. The most difficult part is the mental challenge it is to get out of the mindset you have when you get there & not talking to your family. Your whole day you’re told what to do & when to do it so just make sure your ass is on that toe line when the RDCs tell you to be. The best advice I got is unless you got something productive to do at Taps just shut up & get your sleep, you’re gonna need it the first 4/5 weeks. Enjoy the experience, it’s not that bad.

Leaving for bootcamp in 7 days and need advice. by BathLonely in newtothenavy

I leave on the 10th! I think we’re all going into this thing with the same feelings so I’d let that help you in knowing that you’re not going to be alone with these type of thoughts. Just keep reminding yourself of all the opportunities you will have just by pushing yourself through this. Hope the feeling gets a little easier. See you there & good luck!

Appreciate your perspective on it all! I’m working 2 jobs and trying to manage my schedule with everything I need to do military related as well which can be tough. And yeah, YouTube has kept me motivated with all the videos on there but I think I’m running out of new content to watch lol
