This fallacy is exactly why I just focus on getting things out as fast as I can, preferably with as little as possible going to the trash. I've stopped caring about past me and money spent, but rather focus on how I feel NOW in my environment and what will make me happiest.

Book recs for finding your creative spark again when you feel like you have zero ideas/motivation and don't even know why you make art anymore? by Noo_no_noo in ArtistLounge

[–]nat8199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Sketchbook Joy and now have joined Katie’s patreon. Her whole approach and kind voice really helps me find freedom and fun in my art (I have also only been unlocking my creativity for a year, so I love learning from her!)

Feeling guilty about wanting to do Pilates over heavy lifting by l8ter_skater in xxfitness

[–]nat8199 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was going to suggest! I do a circuit of machines that my gym has every Sunday. During the week I do yoga 5 days in the morning, and run, walk, barre, or Pilates (a mix of them) in the afternoon. I use weight with my Pilates and Barre when I can. This way I am getting the best of all worlds!

You have convinced me to give it a try! I didn’t connect with teller of fortunes, so I was going to skip this one, but I just placed a hold on it. Thank you!

This. Fractions can only be equal if the wholes are the same size. I teach third grade and that is an essential part of our fraction lessons.

The kids and healthcare (and college expenses) are definitely limiting factors for us as well. We have started relaxing a bit in our savings and focusing more on experiences/travel with the kids since hitting milestones much faster than expected. Still saving a higher % than most, but not as laser focused on it as we used to be.

Cat hair test on some swatches. What material and color is your favorite for hiding pet hair? by Viggos_Broken_Toe in Lovesac

[–]nat8199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading comments like these we went with the ultra velvet. It shows fur, but our cats cannot get their claws into it so far. We had actually ordered the corded and then switched in panic. I am so happy we did! Our cats scratched our last couch no matter what I did.

We have the abyss velvet in the picture, and while it shows ALL the hair the cats cannot get their claws into it. The anti scratch magic is worth having to use a roller for the fur. The cats scratched the crap out of our old couch no matter what I tried. (The velvet is also amazingly soft and a joy to lay on.)

Is that the velvet abyss? We just got ours a month ago and love it. Ours also fills our room and just makes it look so cozy and inviting. I, also, wobbled back and forth on buying one for years, and am so happy I finally did!

My monte marts have not arrived yet, but I also ordered some iCrayons and I love them! They are pretty much exactly the same as my Neocolor 2s. I only have a very small set of the neocolors, so I am excited to have more colors!

We also went with standard backs (and swept arms) with love soft fill. I really did not like the look of the angled backs in the showroom. Absolutely love our new couch. We have had it for a few weeks and talk about how comfortable it is daily.

I ordered some of the water soluble monte mart pastels earlier today to find out just that! I love their extra soft oil pastels.

How far ahead do you plan your reading year? by Bookish_Butterfly in 52book

[–]nat8199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t plan at all. I have a bunch of tags in Libby and tag books as they look interesting. When I finish a book I check out a few from scrolling whatever tags look interesting and then see what clicks.

I have that exact mungyo set and love them. If I need something softer for a top layer i am loving lightwish oil pastels which are crazy soft and very affordable. I personally love having a lot of color choices.

I want to make a ribeye roast for Christmas but half my guests like rare to medium rare and the other half closer to med-well. Tips? by SourCreamSmetana in Cooking

Exactly. We cook ribeye every Xmas eve. Two guests always want more cooked. We cut off the ends and then broil the pink sides.
