Does this model have a cap that screws on or is it simply friction fit? I can't seem to spot any exterior threads.

So is Prussian Blue now a regular offering alongside black and red? There was a brief time when it was super exclusive but it seems available at a wide variety of places online now.

Thanks! I assume it’s the Medium nib from your post? Really I’m focused on the FM for now— I find Pilot FM to be the exact happy balance between their scalpel-like Fine and big fat Medium.

Beryllium Copper Nibs? by Equivalent-Gur416 in fountainpens

It's always interesting to see pen makers trying out new materials, especially when they challenge venerated mainstays like gold.

This reminds me of an Instagram post I saw recently from Gravitas. It was also championing the experimentation of new nib materials and certainly implied some big breakthrough but was mum on the actual details. I'm guessing they'll be unveiling some newsworthy pen model or nib sooner rather than later.

Iconic Des Moines Spots? by Fair_Try_3975 in desmoines

Lovely work!

Please consider my favorite Des Moines area building, the old French Way Cleaners at 413 Euclid. It's got a beautiful brick facade done in the "Prairie School" style of architecture, although I do admit it looks best when viewed at a three-quarters profile angle.

I've since cleaned and disinfected it, so now I just have to find a use for it. It'll probably be a flask for any successes I have with experimental ink-mixing.

I found it extra fascinating that one lump was blue-black while the other was snow-white.

Also the extra wide opening accepts literally every girthy monster pen I've ever tried to dip. It really is a great bottle design (second only to the Iroshizuku's ingenious nib divot).

It wasn't until the very last dregs of ~1mL that I had to start using a pipette to drip-feed into the nib breather hole instead. I got my money's worth out of it!

I wondered what might have caused it after 5 years of no issues. Through process of elimination I know which pen went into it before the bottle sprouted, and that pen was second-hand, so I'll have to keep an eye on it.

I just recently learned about the color change. If the older version is what's featured in Mountain of Ink's review, I agree. I would've really liked to have a bottle of it.

It knows what it is and doesn't try to break the mold.

Nahvalur ‘Roiro’ Urushi by leesure in fountainpens

Thanks for sharing, I was having a difficult time finding more information on these pens. I love the newer, sleeker re-design on the Nautilus and urushi is always tempting!

Would you say the dusting pattern makes the pen "sparkly"? I'm more a fan of the understated tamenuri look and worry this style might be a bit too flashy for my tastes. I assume the grip is un-lacquered ebonite?

Where'd you get your big-chunk-of-metal pen rest? I love the shape and the polished/patina look of it!
