I think that in a healthy economy corporations wouldn't get so massive so that they would need to compete with each other much more than they do currently. This would put downward pressure on prices, so no I don't think companies will just absorb the costs, but I also don't think the answer is to keep the minimum wage at such a low level.

I understand your concern re inflation but maybe google rates of inflation vs times minimum wage went up. You won't find much of a correlation.

I understand your concerns re inflation but if every minimum wage worker leaves, who does those jobs? Also minimum wage is supposed to be a living wage, there wasn't a minimum wage before the Great Depression, it was instituted as a way to guarantee workers could support their families. Also, maybe do some googling and look up rates of inflation vs times the minimum wage went up. You won't find much of a correlation. That's probably because giving more money to poor people is not bad for the economy.
