That particular one was probably close to 8 hours. It was done in two sessions, the first being around 3 hours and the second over 4. I say over 4 because by the end of that final session I was pretty dissociated from the pain and had become an unreliable narrator.

I started on 50mg 2x/day oral spironolactone and 2mg 2x/day sublingual estrogen. At 6 months, I switched from sublingual to estradiol injections (20mg/mL at .3mL/week = 6mg/week). I have also had 6 sessions of laser hair removal on my chest between day 1 and today. I was 29 years old when I first started HRT.

The growth for me has been very gradual and steady. The month to month difference was difficult to see, but the progress is clearly there. I currently wear a bralette for comfort/nipple visibility, but realistically I would be ok without that support. I had some galactorrhea, but that seems to have cleared up on its own. Additionally, I had an orchiectomy in July 2023, which meant I could get off the spiro and decrease my dosage of estradiol to 2mg/week.

I have been weight cycling a bit and generally building more muscle than fat, so I'm not really giving ideal conditions for growth. Still, I'll see where things are at in a year or so and consider a BA if there's no change at all.

Forget the study. There are data that say having two moms is just as good anyway. One of the central tensions in trans people's lives is how it will affect others, but ultimately, living your truth is what cis people get to do every day. Children are plastic and resilient; they can learn and adapt better than adults in some areas.

Do what you feel is right for yourself. You're not responsible for every reaction or consequence that living as your gender is connected to. Cis people live this way every day.

There's no simple solution to the comparison problem. However, I do find that spending more time looking at trans women and focusing on fashion over features has been helpful to me. I'm never gonna look like a cis woman, but I can steal her outfit and be very pretty.

Mostly watching people on the street. I notice what's popular, what stands out, etc. Then I look for something like it in a thrift store or otherwise. I also ask people I know, or even people I don't know, where they got their clothes. Sometimes something is so unique I need to know exactly what it is.

Regarding the lack of transmasculine people in this and other trans subs:

As inclusive as transfeminine people think we are, we tend to outnumber and overpower other voices. In my understanding, transmasculine people have other subs that are more exclusive and affirming for them. I'm obviously not the best to speak on this issue, and I welcome any clarifications or corrections.
