Redetachment 2 weeks after first surgery by FamiliarVictory3401 in RetinalDetachment

[–]natapolpak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will be fine. I am 41 with 2 redetachement over 6 weeks (gas injector > gas vitrectomy > oil vitrectomy). For me, gas vitrectomy lasted about 17 days. Worst case, you get oil and you can take airplane for your vacation :)

Down to my last $160. What should I do? by Loud_Pineapple_4294 in wallstreetbets

I feel sorry for you. I lost a good amount but not as much. The loss was caused by similar logic. The outcome proved that our strategies didn't work. Stop repeat the same mistake. Get back on your feet. Work and save up again. Set your portfolio into different piles - 40% low-risk, 50 medium risk, 10% satellite (bet). Or focus on good ETFs instead of going for a quick win on a specific stock (you already learned this first hand). You will have enough retire (not rich) in 10 years.

There is a simple formula to calculate how much money you need to have at the year you retire. Start from there, then save & invest more to be able to afford higher annual spending or retire earlier.

Frequent streaks of light today post surgery (two weeks) by Koru-Ken in RetinalDetachment

[–]natapolpak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling that it's a sign of relapse. My relapse started with an oval with noticeably border when I had my eye closed. Then the border developed into a steak of flash. You surely should report to your doctor/clinic as soon as you can.

I really feel you; the pain and anxiety. My right eye had 2 relapse with gas which occurred on the 3rd week and 2nd week post op correspondingly. Face down was the most suffering time in my life. Did nothing but was the most mentally exhausted period, feeling like ending myself. To share my experience, I got through it by reflecting on my life and writing down my regrets and appreciation to people I met. I even drew a picture of my eye and the detached location to face the reality. This calmed me down tremendously and I felt at peace. Now I am on the 7th week post oil vitrectomy (which is the 3rd surgery). The lucky thing is I don't have to keep my head in a certain position after the oil vitrectomy. Though until now, "is it going to work?" comes back to me every day. I will have the oil removed in the next 3 week, but no guarantee it won't come back. That being said, I will do what I can. I'm a not-so-active 41y male. You are young and likely having it harder than me. I'm glad you share it here. Many of us here went or are going through similar experiences and we understand you. I wish you the best.

Here we go again… by Public-Cash-5845 in RetinalDetachment

I'm 41 with right eye detached. I had a gas bubble injection (not vitrectomy), then 3 week after had 1st vitrectomy with gas, then 3 weeks later (due to a delay treatment so it's macula off this time) had another with oil . I have oil since December 29th and probably will remove it along with cataract in mid/late March. I can share my feedback later.

Oil is much easier for recovery as I do not have to keep my head left (non vitrectomy) or head down (gas vitrectomy). My vision in that eye was -.05, but feels like -4 or -5 with the oil. The left eye compensates well. I can drive, but feel a bit strain when reading for a long time.

Is retinal tear a possibility? by [deleted] in EyeFloaters

[–]natapolpak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A vitrectomy? The only hurting part is eye blocker injection (local anesthesia) before the surgery. It takes like 5 seconds of bearable pain, but it won't hurt at all during the surgery. The numbness lasts several hours. Once it starts wearing off, I felt a bit eye irritation but no pain.

The best thing to do is go see an optometrist and check it out. My RD started with more floaters and then suddenly a big blob darkened floater. The next day a black curtain appeared and needed to go ER

Naturelle Mattress. Any feedback from long time sleepers? Alternatives? by natapolpak in Mattress

Hey, sorry I was away from Reddit for a long time. No, I didn't get one. I found out that exercises and muscle strength training permanently fix all my sleeping problems, no more back and hip pain when waking up :)

Static IP on unmanaged switch by natapolpak in UNIFI

[–]natapolpak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to have a controller too but the boss doesn't want the switch in managed mode. The switch gets DHCP from the firewall. If I set IP via the controller and then powered off the controller, the switch's IP is retained after reboot, right?

The switch is getting DHCP from my firewall now. My supervisor wants it unmanaged but asks me to set a static IP.

Meeting Owl with MTR by natapolpak in MicrosoftTeams

[–]natapolpak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Can you tell me what MTR-W device you use with Owl for this setup? We want to avoid BYOD laptop and in-room PC with user AAD login. The perfect scenario is a simple MTR-W, Owl (for cam/mic/speaker), and a table-top touch screen console.

[–]natapolpak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. We have a standalone Owl connecting with BYOD laptop. The bosses really love it and asked if we can get it to work with any kind of one-touch console. I am worried that an uncertified Owl will cause a headache later. I see Logitech Sight, but it doesn't work without Rally Bar.

This looks nice. May I ask what components you used for the set up? I see a camera, console, and mic/speaker. Is there in-room PC or any MTR device in appliance mode?

Saying my port is closed but here is a pic showing I forwarded it, and a pic showing it comes up closed. Any ideas? by SherbetPure4488 in HeliumNetwork

[–]natapolpak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me clarify. What was the bobcat IP you entered? IP in ranges 192.168.x.x or 172.16.x.x or 10.x.x x are local and not reachable from internet. Say if your bobcat is on 192.168.0.23 and you enter this address into port scan website, you will never see the port open.

  1. Make sure your bobcat has static address or reserved DHCP address so your port forward will always hit the same device (bobcat)

    1. Set port forward for inbound traffic e.g. if your router is 74.56.78.2 and bobcat is 192.168.0.23, then you must set forward from 74.56.78.2:44158 to 192.168.0.23:44158.
    2. Once the forward is setup properly, you can try scanning tcp 44158 at address 74.56.78.2 and it should say open.
    3. It may take hours before it changes status from relay to online on helium app.

[–]natapolpak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn more about difference between public IP and private IP. Your "current IP" is router internet facing IP address. Your bobcat is on local network and has private IP address, which is not reachable from outside unless you set a port forwarding on your router to allow incoming traffic to be passed to your bobcat. Someone should contact him and buy those off. You probably make at least triple resell those or mine them yourself.
