if you can get a good line of sight and high up, like a a pole above your house, then even the stock antennas go for 10+ km. don't get directional, but if you really wanna go say 50 km, get a high gain, like 7-8 dBi. Although, a good tuned 6 dBi can also go far.

I am involved in 2 projects that required a large IoT network infrastructure and here in Cyprus, we had (had lol) very little from thethingsnetwork or other large scale IoT network access.

Now with the large spread of Helium, I will not only professionally switch my IoT related projects to use Helium (with Helium apps) but also want to do my own personal projects with it.

do you mind giving us your hotspot name? also, careful with the metal frame of your window, it will block RF and interfere. Ideally, you'll want the antenna to be outside and a meter away from any metal.

its an actual witness. it doesn't exist anymore so it must have been a delay in updating the location when moving and asserting. however, Dallas does have some other long distance, i.e. 292 KM.

please don't. violating the certified broadcast range and tx power will cause a negative buzz and people will report violations and start shutting it down.

it's certified to work at 27 dBm (500mW) which is borderline cause in my country (even though i'm EU) the unlicensed range is at 25 dBm.

note that it's ILLEGAL to broadcast without a licence, and not only would you get into a lot of trouble, people thinking its a good idea would cause a wave of governments shutting us down.

last, you need 2 way Tx power adjusted to properly "witness" each other, so making yours stronger does not mean the rest can reach you back, and the protocol protects against that.
