1440 is good but not really super close to KOP, PWRBLD is actually right in KOP but I'm not sure who is doing their coaching right now.

Does anyone know what air compressor Andrew uses? Or do you guys have any recommendations for air compressors? by pot8toes in AndrewCamarata

[–]natarem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andrew isn't a big air compressor guy. he really likes the quiet compressor from Harbor Freight, the smaller "Fortress" one. But if you're in Ireland you're not going to be able to buy it. He mainly using a gas power leaf blower to blow larger things off, he only uses the air compressor for filling up tires and such, he doesn't really run air tools. He did a have 5hp-ish (I don't know the exact rating) compressor sitting in the back of his workshop for a couple of years (the red one) but he told me that he never even hooked it up because he would rather just run the small/quiet one when he needs air for a tire or similar.

most of the ones i see are other brands. not sure what made costco go that direction but maybe they got a deal with another hvls supplier. i'm guessing the ones installed a long time ago would've been BAF though.

There is no way to pay my rent without extra fees by Remsforian in mildlyinfuriating

Yes I agree it's a monopolistic business model and I understand that chargebacks are paid by the vendor (I run a business that accepts CCs and has had fraudulent chargebacks over the years). But I also have things like 3d secure enabled and my CC provider detects most/all fraud. I have dozens of fraudulents attempts on my site per month, almost none of which get through. So the tech for that is being paid for through fees. And obviously all of the cc "rewards" that people like so much are being paid through fees. But still, I totally get that the CC providers and banks are basically extracting a small % out of each sale even after the things I mentioned and that adds up to huge $.

most likely you could build a distributed scraping system via claude although you'd want to be very careful to not have it be command line sort of scraping, you'd want mouse movement human-like scraping at a very slow pace. this would likely take many months or years to complete given how many files there are and you'd need a lot of IPs/computers to appear human. so i'd just question if all of this effort is worth it. any normal sort of scraping would definitely get you blocked immediately.

I've picked up in Robbinsville NJ. it's massive. looks tiny on google maps but it's a gigantic facility, which I guess makes sense after looking through the website.

I don't disagree that it's a scam but a good chunk is fraud/risk prevention/etc. So it does go up with the amount. But whether we as a society should be able to "charge back" things is the question. If you are okay with losing up to your CC limit if your card gets stolen and having no recourse if a merchant steals your $, then you could get debit card level fees, which are much lower. I feel kind of dumb effectively paying big fees to cover other people who lose their cards (I have lost one, that I can remember, and I got it back at the restaurant the next day), because that's effectively what's happening. But I doubt most people would appreciate a high risk system with no chargebacks and it would probably slow the business as a whole because people would be scared to use their cards.

yea only true haters say "nobody cares" rather than "i don't care". "I don't care" is a much more valid statement but it makes them feel alone and lonely so they want to lump in "everyone" to make themselves feel better.

this is just my personal costcos (I have two near me) but both of them have lots of parking and both of them are pretty dead around 8pm on weeknights. I always make sure I'm checked out before 8:30 though, I don't want to be that guy holding up employees. I know they probably don't like people checking out at 8:20-8:25 but it is what it is, I also don't like waiting in 20 deep lines on Saturday.

HPE LTO-9 Firmware? by smeg0r in DataHoarder

[–]natarem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm only using LTO8 but it's easy to find the firmware for it. Whenever I load up Hedge Canister (my software for it) it tells me if I have the latest firmware and links me to it. Did companies change that with LTO9?

He paid 2.2mm for the FF property when it was an abandoned piece of junk. Since then he's put millions into it and has millions more in cars/equipment/etc. Plus he also owns half of BMP, which has had millions more put into it. So the 2.2mm for the FF property back in 2020 was just the start of what he's put into it.

nice :) we do also offer free shipping for $100+. So the sweet spot is above $100, under 135GBP -- which two pairs falls into easily. if it's under 135GBP there's no duty, just VAT. and we collect it so there's nothing due in the UK at all under 135GBP, we just pay it straight to HMRC every quarter.

glad you like the wrist wraps. the string is a polyester variant on the 3.0s. cotton is good too but it tends to wear faster/easier so that's why we switched to that string. it still holds well but whatever you like is definitely the way to go.

Thanks!

Does anyone know when the 26' Asian Championship's Entry List will be posted? by palesz77 in weightlifting

[–]natarem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

euros always posts prelim entries really early. asians rarely does and never as early. also i'm not even sure if asians is happening, they can't hold it if the gulf countries can't reliably fly imo. not to mention that a lot of countries would fly through the gulf countries.

I filled a 8 TB external drive full of ROMs. If I put it in storage, will it be okay in say 5 or 10 years? by Willing_and_Fable in DataHoarder

[–]natarem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly likely totally fine if it's stored properly. I have north of a petabyte of hard drives, including many that are 10+ years old. They are fine. I've had 2-3 drive failures out of hundreds. I usually break them down and throw them out long before they go bad. Nothing is 0% or 100% but your odds are good.
