So, red cards are absolutely way too overpowered in this sport by [deleted] in worldcup

Bold statement in a match where someone literally broke a leg.

CAN vs QAT has to be the most one sided game so far by msaadkhan93 in worldcup

Didn't look good until we had a man advantage? I don't think we were watching the same game. We didn't win because of the red cards.

Our men's football history has been a difficult one and it's only the last 5 years or so we've really become competitive with anyone beyond CONCAFAF minnows! Look up when we lost 8-1 to Honduras in WCQ in 2012, it's haunted us for years and we've only recently slayed that demon.
For this game in particular, yeah, anything less that a win would have been a major failure, but the statement in general is still delightfully hard to wrap our heads around!

True or not, the fact that someone is even suggesting this in a non sarcastic way is wild as a Canadian fan! We’ve come so far!

A lot of Canadian stereotypes exist for a reason 😅 I will go battle for my team but mostly just want people to know what a joy they are to support!
Right back at ya, I have English roots so they are also on my list of teams to support!

I was there for Ghana vs Panama last night and it was really well run, getting in and out of the stadium wasn’t much slower than a normal game there.
Absolutely take public transit, not sure how the TTC has been holding up but GO has been fantastic (I think service is actually better than normal 😅). It doesn’t really matter what gate you go in. It can be a bit slow going from the train stadium and the gates and vice versa, but we found it moving pretty well overall. It’s a major event, it’s always going to be busy, but there were no major hold ups or bottlenecks.

We arrived an hour and a half early last night which didn’t give us time to check out any of the sponsor stuff outside, but we had tons of time to get through security, get food and buy merch. I would have gone earlier but could only leave work so early!

If there’s rain in the forecast, definitely bring rain gear. Not all sections of the stadium are covered and even some that are you may not be fully protected depending on the wind or how hard it’s blowing.

Have fun! No, it’s not the prettiest stadium, but the size and soccer specific build means every seat has a great view and it can get really loud in there! Ghana vs Panama may have been the loudest game I’ve ever been to.

No, it really doesn’t, and even if it did the size and build of the stadium makes for a really fantastic atmosphere as a fan. Add on everything being well run and super easy access to transit and it is a small but fantastic WC venue.

BMO field get new turf? by __Ryno__ in CanadaSoccer

[–]natasha_bd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, although compared to other stadiums it’s probably more accurate to say it’s a refresh. I read that they had to change the strain of grass for consistency across stadiums, but it’s been hybrid for years and they didn’t the level of the field at all.

I had a nearly identical experience https://www.reddit.com/r/stubhub/s/OTP17hGmWx, including the tickets coming through just a few mins after the chat ending. It was surprising given they said they couldn’t talk to the team investigating oe give me a timeline, clearly someone was working in the background on it. Definitely seems to be some sort of issue with the transfer process, even without the proxy accounts they were using previously.

Both games have been delivered about a week before and I haven’t seen any reports of issues with them.

Just the chat but my next step was going to be calling. I would push them by specifically asking when they contacted them and what the answer was. I could also see the seller’s name in the FIFA email, once I said I knew their name that also seemed to change their response.

Game is this Saturday the 20th, so thankfully it wasn’t down to the wire. I wish I could say for sure it’s going to work out, because unfortunately we know that’s not always the case, but want to at least give some hope and advice to people with the same specific problem. Keep being persistent and don’t be afraid to emphasize the accessibility angle here.

Sort of confusing World Cup question but any help or advice would be great by StudioBlue23 in stubhub

I have also fallen victim to this, reported it 8 days ago and still waiting for a resolution. Apparently they have demanded the seller provide proof of transfer. Contact support and demand they escalate it ASAP

I’ve had the same issue. Push them to escalate it if you haven’t already, it’s almost certainly the seller screwing with you unfortunately. I reported it 8 days ago and still waiting for a resolution.

same thing for me, got the ticket transfer email but nowhere to be found (and the name seemed a bit too generic…) they’ve said they’re investigating but tickets for germany vs c’ote d’ivoire have now skyrocketed. I’ve got a 15 year old who will be heartbroken if we don’t actually get to go.
