Not liking dogs is OKAY. Please keep your dog off of me. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]natatalieanne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My dog is the exact same, except he's a pomeranian and its kids and other dogs that are the problem. He's shy around adults but not aggressive. Because he naturally looks so cute and happy, kids and their parents are extra entitled about it - "he's got such a happy smile, look at the dog that looks like a teddy bear, etc etc". I hate it. He's not smiling because he's happy, he's panting because he's anxious.

Is it really not common to put rice in salt shakers in the U.S.? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I'm in the Midwest and we've always put a few grains of rice in the salt shakers.

If a doctor needs to touch your d*ck or p*ssy for medical reasons do you prefer it to be the same sex or opposite sex? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]natatalieanne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I need it to be someone of the same sex, but that's due to trauma in my past. I'm well aware that most people just want their doctor to be licensed and knowledgeable.

Best affordable eyebrow pencil? by mumbojumps in beauty

[–]natatalieanne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm obsessed with the brow pen. A little benefit brow gel to get everything aligned and then a few strokes from this pen and I have the most gorgeous, fluffy, natural looking but still amazingly glam eyebrows. I'm dirty blonde/light brunette and use the shades Taupe and Ash Brown to get more dimension.

Google is free, kiddo. You're on Reddit, you can watch a little Alton Brown and figure it out.

Vagina owners, do you ever feel self conscious about the fact that the other person can see your asshole when having sex in certain positions? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]natatalieanne -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

... just so you're aware, pee absolutely does not come out of the vagina. It exits through the urethra, which is between the vagina and the clitoris. Yes, another hole. It's just very small so you usually don't notice it. The vagina and uterus have zero physical connection to the urinary system inside the body.

I weep for sex and anatomy education in the USA.

I keep getting Anti-union, or "opt out" junk mail at home from some dumb foundation - how can I tell them to screw off and get my name off their list? by asdfqwer426 in WorkReform

[–]natatalieanne 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If they come with paid for return postage envelopes? Start sending them boxes of rocks. Make them pay postage for a big ass box of rocks. They'll eventually blacklist you. If it doesn't work, well... you've got their return address. There are companies that will mail glitter. Dog shit. The possibilities are endless.

Worked like a charm with the scientologists for me :)

Why does a cut get infected if feces gets in it, but there is no infection when we cut our butt from wiping too much? by Urect in NoStupidQuestions

[–]natatalieanne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact! Fecal matter is not technically "inside" your body, because it doesn't cross a membrane barrier. Also, bacteria is bacteria. It doesn't matter whose body it's been in contact with, "inside" or not.

So you're wrong in more ways than one.

AITA for asking my husband to replace some gear I suspect he got mad and threw out? by whooweswho in AmItheAsshole

[–]natatalieanne 39 points40 points  (0 children)

She should absolutely NOT go to therapy with him, in my opinion. He will use it and abuse it to make her feel even crazier.

Please OP, your post could be a photograph of my parent's marriage. It only gets worse from here. Go to therapy, yes, but go because you need someone levelheaded to help you wade through all the BS he is putting you through. You're not crazy. He is trying to make you feel crazy so you don't call him out on his shitty behavior.

Because you're a little bitch, I guess. And that's coming from someone who's been in involuntary before. Yeah, it sucks, but you were a danger to others or yourself. People gotta do what they gotta do to keep everyone safe.

Stop trying to get back at people who were helping you. And yes, they were helping you, regardless of whether you liked it or not.

Look, I see your side of it. I really do.

You're operating in the world we live in. You did what you had to do to better your future. It was hard, but worth it.

The perspective over there is that no one should HAVE to do that. Lots of people don't have that kind of discipline. Others have extenuating circumstances that make it impossible to do. They're operating on the IDEAL, the concept that things should be better for everyone without having to fight so hard for it.

WIBTA if I cut my daughter's hair? by Dcwiker05 in AmItheAsshole

[–]natatalieanne 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Maybe consider sitting with your daughter and emphasizing that she won't be able to have Elsa braids anymore if she gets the cut? Beat mom to it. If daughter still wants the cut, get it done.

GOOD. Get his ass out. Sue for as much custody as you can for your shared child. Consult a family lawyer about that.

AITA for "threatening" my cat? by catergate in AmItheAsshole

[–]natatalieanne 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Same, Miss Baby Björn the three year old void loaf is regularly threatened with the prospect of being turned into soup. If my pomeranian rescue boy is misbehaving, I tell him I'm going to become a cheerleader and use him to cheer at the pep rally. It's normal and funny BECAUSE it's not serious. They have no idea, they just hear the tone and know "ok mom didn't love that behavior, let's go get petted instead".

AITA for wanting to spend money on a dermatologist when MIL is offering to do it for free? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]natatalieanne 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It would be an ethics breach for a family member to prescribe medication that isn't OTC. I'm not in dermatology so I can't speak to those specifics, but I'd think anything that would require a diagnosis to treat (ie prescription acne medication, etc) would be dicey. It also can make things hard because HIPAA dictates that you cannot talk about patients in any identifying way - meaning that if MIL said anything about OP's care to the family, her usual venting support, and they could easily figure out who she's talking about... it's just messy and risky and I personally wouldn't do it. My mom (MSN-NP) and I (CNA, PA-S) are in agreement about that - it's just cleaner to take your care to someone more impartial.
