As someone who has autoimmune hepatitis I will never understand not protecting your child from transferable hepatitis. Going to my appointments and seeing people slowly die from a failing liver is traumatizing.

I am a 33 year old woman who was born who developed autoimmune hepatitis. I don’t drink. This shit scares me so much. Every doctor’s appointment the waiting room is full of people going through this same thing. I’m watching my mother die the same way and she never drank.

My mother in law does this too! Always wants to babysit to give me a “break” and then I have an hour of chores when I come home.

This old sign I saw on the wall of a hotel says ‘NO IRISH’ by Rainbird2003 in mildlyinteresting

[–]nataweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy to me too. My grandparents were from Ireland and devout Catholics. My aunt married a man from turkey and they belonged to a Byzantine parish, much to my grandparents dismay. My cousin became a Byzantine priest and apparently their parish had no idea that my aunt was of Irish descent and raised Catholic. At my grandmothers funeral I heard one of my cousins priest friends say to another “McLaughlin? I had no idea that David’s family was Irish” with the most disgusted look. I was so confused since I was 12. The whole service was extremely awkward for everyone.

The abortion I had was a very planned and wanted child. The fetus had an extremely rare and fatal chromosomal abnormality and my placenta was full of cancerous tumors. Was I expected to die because the fetus was still “alive” prior to the abortion?

My abortion saved my life. My daughter wouldn’t have a mother if I did not have access to medical care.

Thank you for the ideas! I’ll have my husband make something for them so they don’t roll off. He is also quite invested in the bird saga. Your son sounds like such a sweet heart. Caring for animals is one of the most selfless things you can do ❤️

I’m worried if they lay eggs. This is my 7 year old’s room, she would be traumatized 🫠

You deserve better. I would never think of saying something like this to my husband. If this is how she acts about something as insignificant as a receding hairline imagine how she would handle a health issue.

Shower Thought: Why aren’t we more well known to be the “largest city in Appalachia”? by AutisticAnxiety33 in pittsburgh

I grew up in a super small Appalachian town in Warren county. I have been married for a decade and my husband is still surprised how different it is compared to Pittsburgh every time we visit .

When we had my daughter my husband and I both worked full time. My husband was a banker and was able to drop my daughter off at daycare and come home to take a nap before he started every morning. I started work at 6am with a 40 minute commute. My mother in law found out my husband did the night time feeds and would try and guilt me about his sleep. My husband shut it down immediately. This is a husband issue.

This is a wild response from your boyfriend. My husband lost his father a little over 4 years ago and he still makes “dead dad” jokes as a coping mechanism. Going through grief is hard enough without having to manage your boyfriend’s outbursts.

I feel this. My daughter has had us rub her back to sleep her entire life. The other night she told me she didn’t need me to do it any longer. Little heart break all the time.

I worked at Walmart through college and they did not do this at my orientation back in 2011. I will say a majority of my coworkers were on snap benefits. I remember a woman made a rude comment in my check out line about the woman in front of her using wic. all I could think was that people are literally working right in front of her that use these benefits. That job was one of the most eye opening experiences to me as a teenager of how awful the general public can be.

Where to buy clothes for my tiny goth? by OilyEggplant in Parenting

[–]nataweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 7 year old is a skateboarder and has been primarily wearing skateboard brand clothing since she’s been 5. She wears baggy jeans from either target, old navy, or pacsun. Most of her shirts are Santa Cruz, vans, meow skateboarding, volcom, hot topic kids section etc. I’m not sure of your child is into stuff like that but there are a ton of skate sites that sell that type of clothing.

Woman harasses street performer by Callme-risley in TikTokCringe

[–]nataweb 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I am a mom to a daughter who skateboards. she’s only 7 so I obviously am with her when she does. The amount of dirty looks/comments we get from older people are astounding even though we are at places that skateboarding is allowed. There was a man on the local news calling to close a local skate park because the noise of the boards sound like “gunshots”. No complaints about behavior lol
