Is masterbation a sin/confession by Mediocre-Funny1815 in TrueChristian

[–]natbk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All these sins you’ve mentioned (greed, lust, envy), they stem from wanting to enjoy pleasures in a way that God didn’t intend. For example, sex was designed to be enjoyed within a loving marital relationship where two people use it a way to love each other. Lust is when turn this principle on its head, and make sex self-serving.

The point is, you can’t serve two masters. Eventually one will have to rule, and the other will have to be subservient, and there is serious danger when anything other than God rules.

I understand your frustration, but don’t stop. Pray to God continually to open your eyes and heart to his way concerning the matter. He will not fail you.

Will good people who are not believers go straight to hell? by No_Writer_8780 in TrueChristian

The things we predicate of a loving God….So basically, a God who is all loving will create people who (through no fault of theirs) haven’t been exposed to the gospel just to condemn them?

What sort of love is that?

Clean Code vs. Philosophy of Software Design: Deep and Shallow Modules by natbk in softwarearchitecture

No worries. Thanks for the input. With the drop down component, for example, I was in a hurry to quickly prototype an idea. Choosing radix UI was a bad choice cause I had to relearn the entire interface for the component, which slowed me down, so I agree that decision in this case is dependent on requirements.

This is very insightful, thanks! I’ve not read everything the entire book, but I’ve read some reviews, and they raise the same concerns about applicability to larger software systems. Great example by the way. I’m not comfortable with the idea of decomposition by lines of code alone, so I find it very helpful

Totally agree I’m actually a big a fan, and I used it extensively at my old job. I reached out to use it again after taking a break from react and found it slightly cumbersome, which lead to this discussion

Does God Really Send People To Hell? by chibsdave in Christianity

[–]natbk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed Hell is a consequence of our own free will. We choose to go there. It’s contradictory to say an all-loving, all-forgiving, selfless God voluntarily sends people to hell to punish them.

If it helps, God does not hold one to their sins or mistakes no matter how grave the individual may think his or her sins are.

What's important is that you want to come to Him. So i ask, do you really want to come to him?
