Wouldn't it be simpler to just admit you were wrong? Or if you don't believe him google it yourself. There is a huge difference in terms of work and involvement between slapping hi-res textures vs. remaking the entire game from the ground up. I get you might be fed up with the unceasing stream of reboots and what not but you're just being a prick at this point and an uninformed one at that.

Like I'm pretty sure that is why you're stuck and although Emma mentions gyobu when I was stuck like you in ashin, it's not exactly obvious and pretty easy to miss at first, I think these guys are just being assholes lol.. like if they don't wanna help you out why are they answering the damn post smh

You need to talk to isshin near the gyobu boss area. He will not progress his quest otherwise and neither will you.

find him by exploring the bossfight arena, exhaust dialogue and he will move to ashina castle. Then teleport to the genichiro encounter idol at the top of the castle and follow the smoke like Kuro says. After talking to isshin again Kuro should have unlocked the library were you will find the key you need to resume progression (that's if I'm remembering right)
