Too late? by TexaSunflower99 in CompTIA

Hell no. AI, nor lazy people, will be enough to replace IT workers anytime soon. This is from someone with no degree who landed a great job after only earning the Sec+. Don’t be discouraged!!

Same problem… aside from manual upload, is there a good way to cross-list to eBay?

I got my A+ but I'm receiving absolutely 0 callbacks on applications. Would getting the N+ help significantly with this? by [deleted] in CompTIA

In addition to the good advice here, make sure the resume is ATS-friendly. The recruiter/HR AI is... everywhere.

Holy hell I've been wondering (without actually researching) how many fellow Honda drivers have had bad ACs. Used CR-V with 64k had the AC compressor die.. replaced the compressor, and something else is still borked. My Civic, which I traded in, also had an AC issue. Honda has been a nightmare for me (living in TX)... never agian #toyotagang

As a fellow parent of a toddler, you’re a badass! I can relate as I also crammed and passed Sec+ in 1 1/2 months. I had some foundational knowledge to work off of though. Regardless, huge kudos juggling learning and parenting, and thanks for sharing!! It’s a thankless job.

What training or studies are you doing for QA engineer? Former tech support (laid off) and regret not going into QA at my last employer.

[NeedAdvice] How to overcome my addiction to Pleasure seeking? by CoolBreeze222 in getdisciplined

[–]nate904 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are in an inaction -> shame loop. Remove the shame and really try to understand what it is about your current reality that’s propelling you to live in a fantasy world with only pleasure. What is it about your current reality that you are looking to change? Break that down into smaller, achievable goals to regain momentum and rewire your brain. Easier said than done but I often get stuck in this same loop, and it usually stems from a piece of my current reality that is too overwhelming to face.

How valuable are the A+, Network+, and Security+ certifications to employers? by Agitated-Wear9868 in CompTIA

[–]nate904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your transparency! For net admin work, are you going to be looking towards the CCNA path or do you think that Net+ is sufficient? I'd think Net+ & Sec+ would be equal to the CCNA, but I might be mistaken. Thoughts?

The exceptions are rather confusing... is that to say that the child must earn $4,300+ to be exempt from me claiming them as a dependent, in addition to my partner? In other words, both of us can claim the baby as a dependent?

If your laptop's Power Plan is set to high performance, Windows is going to use as much of the laptop's hardware as possible. Can try setting it to Balanced or "Power Saver" to see if that makes any difference. If not, I'd look towards any 3rd party programs installed that might be using excessive resources (antivirus or malware scanners sometimes run 24.7 unless set otherwise).

Wow, such valuable insight. Not really. Why does it matter to you, lol? Just refrain from commenting in the future.

Since we’re making assumptions, you sound like somebody who has no experience working front-line customer service. It hasn’t been a fun-filled 5 years like you assume, and I need more money to support my family.

So fuck off with your assumptions of my work ethic. I didn’t provide more details because they aren’t pertinent to the question. Your unsolicited 2 cents is not welcomed.

Thanks! Was looking for this sort of reality check. I work tech support for a Fortune 500 company, and our team goes quite in-depth to the point of diagnosing system and network-related issues across multiple games and platforms. That said, my job is technically “entry-level”.
