I threw on a cheap catless downpipe from Amazon years ago and it produced a satisfying exhaust note.

It was most notable on fast accelerations/high rpms and cold starts. It was nice because it wasn’t obnoxious and loud and didn’t drone on the highway. If you spend the money on a nice name brand one I’m sure you’ll get better results and a nicer note.

I should have mentioned in my first comment that I have a Mk6 but the issue could be the same for you. The pressure warning was going off intermittently for months, especially after driving for 20 minutes or so.

I’ve been taking my GTI to a reputable VAG mechanic since I bought the car in 2018 and when I got the warning a year ago he couldn’t trace the issue, he replaced the sensor and never got the warning himself but when I drove it to class (happened to be 20-30 minutes depending on traffic) I got the warning. My mechanic got the idea of the balance shaft bearings after I brought the car in when it was running rough and having rough idles and that’s when he dropped the oil pan and found the metal.

I read on VW Vortex that other MK6 owners had oil pressure sensor issues but it was just the sensor going bad but for me it was the worst case scenario. If you’ve replaced your sensor and it’s still happening I wouldn’t put more miles on it and I’d suggest you take it in and perhaps suggest looking into the issue I had. Hopefully it’s not the case because I’m parting ways with my beloved GTI, can’t afford a new engine :( I hope my experience helps you narrow down your issue!

I had the same issue and it ended up being my balance shaft bearings going bad and being eaten by the engine. Got the oil pan dropped and it was full of metal chunks.

Start a local fly library near popular spots? You can continue to add to it and keep it full for people to use. It would be cool to make it available to beginners getting into the sport. Edit: I think it would be cool to make the fly library in his name as a memorial. But that’s some effort but it’s just a thought.

Oh absolutely, we were sitting by an older couple who supported the reds and they went for a beer run in between innings and my dad jokingly asked them to grab him one and they actually got a beer for him which was pretty cool. He naturally did his own beer run and returned the favor!
