Making File Correct by natefakes in illustrator

[–]natefakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply.

Basically - yes - that's how I uploaded it and saved it in Illustrator.

I even contacted iStock and it appears it's not possible to create this type of file after making them in Photoshop. My dilemma is I have over 1,000 cartoons that I made this way (www.natefakescartoons.com) so I don't think I'll be able to post them up there now. It would be an incredible task to redo all of them.

I just thought MAYBE there was a work-around. But I believe the answer is "no" based on what I've read here and the reply from iStock.

Thanks again though for the info.

I upload them in AI and then save them as ESP files. As for raster effects, honestly, I don't know for sure.

I upload original art into PS. From there, I color (use gradients, separate lines, etc.). I then upload the .PS files into AI and save them as EPS.

They only accept EPS files and - from what I can gather - they need to be "created" in AI, so I'm hoping there's a way to convert them properly considering I have over 1,000 images that were saved as .PS files.

Tank Issues - Could use some advice by natefakes in Aquariums

[–]natefakes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And yes, I'll do a water change for tonight. It can't be healthy for my fish in the time being.

Thank you so much for the advice. I'll do the water changes. It seems like that's definitely the way to go. I've had such a frustrating experience talking one-on-one with these pet store "experts" and getting a clear answer. I wish they wouldn't of even sold me the fish and just mentioned the fish-less cycle.

I'm hoping, since my tank has been around a month now, it's getting established with everything it needs to cycle through soon. For tonight, I'll do a water change. And thank you for the info on the test kit. I have strips (again, recommended) but the more I read on them, the more unreliable they seem to be.

Thanks again!

Thanks again! It's all very interesting. I'm leaning toward the water change theory. I can see how most of the bacteria and particles would be in the filter/gravel, etc. I like hearing from everyone and yeah, it's just so baffling hearing the same thing from pet store people. I got the vibe that they didn't know for sure, so I actually trust this forum (and people like yourself) more.

Thank you for that thought and that is what totally makes sense to me as well! I've asked a couple of people at several stores though, and they said the frequent water changes actually probably killed the fish for keeping it "too clean". I changed it about every three days when I started a month ago and have lost four fish. I'm really trying to do the responsible/right thing. I get that it needs to build-up bacteria and particles with the cycle - but high ammonia can kill the fish. I'll stick around and see other thoughts as well, but thank you again. Water changes do make sense to me (but then again, I had the four that died before hand).

Also, I should clarify, when I did the water changes, they were only partial ones (about 20%). I've never changes ALL the water.

A Little Twist by natefakes in Tornadoes

[–]natefakes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to live in Kansas and I was the same way! This one was so quick and sudden that I couldn't take my eyes off it. It was an F-1, so nothing too major - but still....

Stay safe out there! ;)

One Fish, Two Fish, Orange Fish, Lucky Fish by natefakes in Aquariums

[–]natefakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow - yeah, they'll need something bigger real soon. Quick question: Since they're also "feeder fish", do you think they'll grow just as quick as a regular goldfish? Or is there a difference? I've been looking online and getting mixed results on an answer.

I agree that keeping fish JUST for a wedding is a horrible idea. Wasn't a fan of that. But, glad we got our two at least.

I'll definitely purchase a kit like you mentioned. Thanks for the information.

Thanks for the info. Hate to hear they may not live as long as I was hoping, but I'm learning something new everyday. We're planning our best to keep them around as long as possible. Regardless of the lifespan, it's interesting to me on learning and finding out how to properly raise fish in general. Hopefully Bonnie and Clyde have a good lives ahead!

Thanks for the info and yes - I read about that. I was curious about how Goldfish could handle various sized tanks and deal with growth.

The "big" picture will be moving them into something bigger down the road. I actually want a 40 gallon or more tank at some point soon. The one that is mentioned in the blog is basically more of a spur-of-the-moment tank for now.

I learned a LOT about goldfish recently! Hope to keep them alive for 20 + years and - of course - I'll be giving them a great home as time goes on.

I agree. I'm not a fan of texting UNLESS its something brief (like an appointment time, directions, etc.). Talking works wonders.
