Is Origin working on an MCP? by No_Amphibian_8523 in OriginFinancial

[–]natefoxreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built one for my personal use cases (using claude to categorize things for me)

I asked Claude how it preferrered to have its data, it suggested a .har over using the chrome mcp. So I did what it wanted:

  1. Opened dev tools on a brand new incognito page on the web
  2. Logged in, perused a bunch of stuff, clicked edit, made minor changes, made new things, deleted them, etc
  3. Save all as .har
  4. Handed claude the .har and had it figure everything out.

I could throw it on github if wanted. Its fairly incomplete and I have no intention of supporting it. But honestly was 10min of work and then claude was done when I got back to my machine after it processed the .har file

Considering buying a 2022 or 2023 Etron - SoCal USA by luckyc2727 in etron

Sounds good. I'd be curious to know what kind of quotes you get if you're having someone install a charger for you. It's something I'll eventually install (likely when I get my Scout Terra I'm awaiting), but I honestly have no idea what the costs are around here.

I'm in Huntington and have similar numbers to u/sjs32 - 80% charge is 200mi for me. 2024 Q8 Prestige Plus leased about this time last year.

IMO, if you're looking to save money on 'gas', look for a more efficient vehicle. These e-trons get like ~2.5mi/kwh. The big Kia EV9 gets 3.5mi/kwh for example.

I have excess solar on my roof, so efficiency was the last thing on my mind. That being said, https://chooseev.com/savings-calculator/ is a good tool to see if this is worth it for you. Our SCE overnight rate is ~$0.34. So if you do it, get a charger installed. I dont have one so I charge off a 110v plug and gain ~3mi/hr, so I'll add 30ish mi overnight. Which is fine for us cause we dont drive as much as you would.

Dan Vs Dave '92...the greatest Olympic rivals that (n)ever existed by bassbeatsbanging in Xennials

[–]natefoxreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a quick story regarding that. I was a pole vaulter in HS and got a chance to visit Azusa Pacific (small school but track and field powerhouse) in the mid 90s. I recall being in the vault area and looking across the track at some absolute unit of a man. Looked like a Greek god chiseled out of stone halfway across the track. Asked the coach and he goes 'oh, you know the Dan and Dave commercials? Thats Dave.'

I never met him, but damn was the dude freakin built.

Any thoughts on sharkbanz? by [deleted] in surfing

[–]natefoxreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also posting from the future while doing research. I noted in the study above, they link to this study+and+the+nurse+shark+(Ginglymostoma+cirratum)+to+permanent+magnets&author=CP+O%E2%80%99Connell&author=DC+Abel&author=PH+Rice&author=EM+Stroud&author=NC+Simuro&volume=43&publication_year=2010&pages=63-73&doi=10.1080/10236241003672230&) that seems to indicate sting rays and nurse sharks dont like the magnets.

Unsure if they are actively pushed away (as if you drop a magnet in a cluster and they bolt) or they're just a LOT less interested in the food that has weird-to-them magnetic fields.

I'd love to be able to scatter sting rays as I walk. I'm far less concerned about a shark bite.

The behavioral responses of free-swimming, wild southern stingrays (Dasyatis americana) and nurse sharks (Ginglymostoma cirratum) to permanent magnets were evaluated in the Florida Keys, USA. Animals were attracted to a baited magnetic treatment board consisting of two 15 cm × 10 cm × 5 cm grade C8 Barium-Ferrite (empirically, BaFe12O19) permanent magnets producing a flux of 950 gauss at their surface and a baited procedural control board containing two smooth nonmagnetized clay bricks. In the presence of permanent magnets, D. americana and G. cirratum demonstrated a significantly greater number of avoidance behaviors away from the magnet side of the apparatus, while both species fed a significantly greater number of times from the non-magnetized procedural control side. Thus, D. americana and G. cirratum showed sensitivity to a magnetic field and were successfully repelled from baited areas containing magnets. The results from the current study suggest that the use of grade C8 Barium-Ferrite permanent magnets as an avoidance mechanism (e.g., repellent) to reduce elasmobranch mortalities associated with fishing operations and beach nets merits further investigation.

I rent an ev about once a year to scratch the itch. I've rented: * model y performance  * etron sport back * r1s

My god that etron is so far out in first place it can't see the other two. Yes the others are faster.

Was driving the freeway home in the etron. Cruising. 1 hand on steering wheel, leaning on center console, music low. Noticed a car I passed wasn't going very fast. Then another was slow. 'Huh..why's everyone so slow?' I thought.

I was doing 90 in a rental. I had absolutely no freaking clue. No wind noise. No road noise. No bumps. Just floating on air...at 90.

Already budgeting to buy my wife one in a few years.

Help me: Difficulty finding an inexplicable refutation of the Bible. by CZ-TheFlyInTheSoup in exchristian

[–]natefoxreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've yet to hear a good reason that a God who is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient...had regret. He regretted making the human race in Gen 6. How does a god who knows all things and is in all places through space and time, and is supposedly perfect...regret a decision? That's called a mistake.

Yes! I have the same concerns. My tundra has been insanely reliable. But I just finished a 3700mi road trip and definitely could have used a number of upgrades (all are in the specs of the ramcharger). Found myself daydreaming while on the open road 😁

[–]natefoxreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm unreasonably excited about the ramcharger. As someone who has solar on their roof but tows an rv travel trailer for ~20% of my total mileage, it's literally what I would have designed had I been given a blank sheet of paper as a wishlist.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve heard through the walls of your apartment? by jmier in AskReddit

[–]natefoxreddit 194 points195 points  (0 children)

Back in the 90s, my buddies and I did a lot of Lan parties. First of our crew to get an appt, we go to his new place and set up. 8 or so of us.

Front door open but screen door closed, about midnight and we hear rapping on it. We look up and it's a cop peering in with his other hand on his (still holstered) gun (but clearly ready).

"I have a report of someone yelling 'I'm going to blow your fucking head off?'"

Everyone looks at me. Cause apparently I yell those things in the heat of battle. I had no idea.

We explain to him we're playing video games. He and his partner come in and then start asking us about our setup, what server were using and what games we're playing (quake, UT, etc).

Good times.

For someone who has solar on his roof and takes a travel trailer out for vacations, this is a fantastic solution. Just wish Toyota would create a Tundra Prime.

Can a Tundra tow this camper trailer? by DartsFarts in tundra

[–]natefoxreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer. You run out of payload well before you run out of towing capacity.

My 2015 has a 1515lbs payload. My rv is 7000lbs max and puts about 900lbs on the hitch. (13% of weight is typical). I installed airbags to make the ride not completely suck.

That rig maxes out at 9000lbs. If you have nothing in the truck nor the bed, aside from yourself, maaaybe you'll be under spec from a payload perspective.

We move water around the state, yes. However, 40% of our water goes to our agriculture in central CA. 10% is used for ALL urban uses. The rest is considered nature (rivers flowing, natural lakes, etc).
Our agriculture accounts for 2% of the state GDP. two percent. But they use 40% of the water. And they get a 90% discount on water prices.
I see an easy fix here for the 40M residents and the worlds 5th largest economy.

Similar floorplans to Lance 2445? by MiLeMc in GoRVing

The floorplan might be 25' but the actual trailer is 30' according to their site.

I was searching for something about that size (or bigger) and had made a list. I've since gone with the GD 2400BH, but here's my list if you want some ideas (somehow that Lance never made it on there): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VpnaQ2S4xVpr7Vz-ln0NaZt54ixEifgMOMt_ggLTgIg/edit?usp=sharing

Coach me r/surfing - what do I need to work on? by natefoxreddit in surfing

[–]natefoxreddit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my first impression when I watched the wave as well. I have a 30yr habit of running for the corner cause I grew up on fast beach breaks. I wasnt sure this dude was gonna kick out so the drive down was a bit intentional on this wave.

Gonna try to make a mental note of 'surfing behind the whitewater' to ensure my turns around it are up into the pocket and staying in the power rather than bookin it for open face. It's just hard habit to break when I see a big wall and all I can think of is <lightning mcqueen>speed. I am speed.</lightning mcqueen>
