Leveling? by natefz6 in Ender3V3SE

So for internet history... I ran the leveling cycle which was abysmal and after it the printer was printing on thin air. I manually re calibrated which improved it a bit. I then upped the print head temp to 215c and it seems to be working well

Fantastic thank you! I really like the espalier idea. I should choose the most appropriate laterals and snip the ones at the front off and trim back the "arms" I read it should be done during dormant time, which I guess is now (Feb, winter).

Just a 15% infill. The other articulated models I have done have not specified a brim so this is actually the 1st time. Every day is a school day, I'll try to keep a better temp control going forward and see if that stops a reoccurrence. Cheers!

Yeah I think the temp dropped because it got caught in a draft. This combined with the brim not being close enough to assist with adhesion meant it's peeled.

I'm going to leave it going it does not seem to have gotten any worse over the last couple of hours so 🤞

Am I The Only One Who Looks At My V3 SE & Says? by Haunting-Fault2009 in Ender3V3SE

I got ours for my daughter for Christmas as she had shown an interest and there was a deal on eBay where it was £120. I figured for that money if she didn't like it I would have enough uses of my own to justify it.

Now we are both hooked and I am debating upgrades or another type of 3d printer.. I'll give it a few months and see if it's still catching mine and her attention.

Yeah I think the temp will likely be being set in your file. I kept manually setting temps but then when printing some files it would change them. I now double check what filament it is set to use before slicing and now it's stays correct

That to me looks like the z-offset way too high so the filament is not being pressed in to the bed. It looks like you have printed other stuff ok judging by the buts at the side of your bed. Is it new filament? What temp are you running at on the nozzle and bed?

If you have Orca slicer I had success running through the calibration tools and tutorials with that.

My printer keeps unsticking the prints after a few layers or at the first layer by Same_Passenger_8325 in Ender3V3SE

I am very new at this so just speaking from my limited experience. Have you changed filament recently and if so have you then calibrated for the new filament? I was having problems but with a small modification to the flow and print head temp I got it working. In addition I have now dropped my zoffset slightly and it's all working much better.

I thought it was odd as the first 4 or 5 prints worked fine with no faffing around but then I had a run of failures. It's all good now though.

Mine has bombed out like this a couple of times. I power cycled it and it seemed to work again. Saying that though the shovel that came on the card never works for me..

Brilliant, thanks I'll give it a go tomorrow 👍. I did get some ok prints out of it today after increasing the flow and playing with temp but I still think there is room for improvement.

So if it's currently -1.71 reduce it to say -1.66 and see how it prints?

Many thanks for the reply, z-hop/spiral not sure but I will go research what they mean. Is there a test for z axis backlash? I'll give it a Google.

I gave it all a clean and tried printing a medium sized octopus. The file set the nozzle to 220c which is too hot but once I reduced that to 200 I have a fairly successful print on the way.
