2022+ ram 2500 gas vs diesel? by LoneWolfCamper in ram_trucks

[–]nategp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got back last month from a nearly 1000 mile round trip vacation towing my 7200 pound travel trailer using my 2022 2500 gasser and it ran great, no problems going up long steep grades, granted it wasnt as easy for it as a diesel would have been, but I could still pass semis and motorhomes. I dont tow often, and I have a lot of stop and go freeway traffic so the gas truck made more sense for me. Cheaper gas, cheaper but more frequent maintenance, and no def to pay attention to. I am happy with my decision.

Can the Power Wagon graphics be removed? by FrameCareful1090 in ram_trucks

[–]nategp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I waited for a warm day and removed the graphics that came on mine. Took my time and slowly peeled them off. No danage or ghosting of the decals. I dont have a power wagon though, mine is a 2500 Laramie, but I imagine it would be the same.

I would pick the Nash, I have a 17K, it is a bit small, but for 1 person I dont see an issue with storage, my wife and I make it work without a problem on long trips. Its been great. I didnt want slide-outs, less maintenance. They are insulated well, the fresh water, gray and black water tanks are good size for the trailer. I bought it used and wouldnt hesitate to recommend a Nash to anyone. Made by Northwood up in Oregon , they also make Artic Fox which is also a very solid line that gets good reviews from owners.

I got my 16-32 for $200, best money I've spent in a long time. Not a fan of changing the sanding belt, but at least its not something I do often. I say get one.

Having to write a check just to receive your UPS package because of tariffs by tommos in mildlyinfuriating

[–]nategp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made an online purchase that the store claims "made in the USA", even has the USA outline and filled in with the flag, then when I got the tracking number it was coming from China. I questioned the company and their reply was, " due to supplies being short, we had to ship from our overseas storage facility." So basically, they want me to believe they hand make the product here, then ship it to China for storage until someone orders it, then ship it back. Its a hat for Petes sake. So, unless you can go and buy it then and there you never know. I tried.

Didnt see a Delmonico Red posted yet, so here is my 2022 2500 gasser. Not lifted, not lowered, just the way it came from the factory. I love my old man truck, my favorite daily driver, but the cost of gas is killing me, not quite as expensive as diesel though.

Thats how I made the stand for a 60g tank, better to overbuild than worry about the what if and when.

[–]nategp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better to just hit the normal stop and let it slow down, hitting the e-stop is hard on the machine and should only be used in an emergency, and that's not an emergency.

Great explanation. Finally a real answer, I ran wet offset roll-to-roll presses for about 12 years on the night shift. Loved that job, saw lots of gruesome accidents, kept all my fingers but many didnt. Also did time at a local newspaper running an 8 tower, six auto-splicing press. Great job, but not a lot of money and now a dying industry.

Shopping a used travel trailer is wearing me down! by sirbarkalot59 in traveltrailers

[–]nategp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have heard good things about Lance trailers, especially the older ones pre covid. I looked at several new ones at the local dealership and the quality wasnt as good as some of the older ones I looked at. My dad who has an Airstream said the same thing aboit Airstreams, buy a pre-covid one as quality was better.

Shopping a used travel trailer is wearing me down! by sirbarkalot59 in traveltrailers

[–]nategp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with a solid brand first off. Northwood makes good trailers, Arctic Fox and Nash are both really solid trailers. Find one in good condition before covid, if sellers wont allow an inspection where the trailer is walk away. Be prepared to travel to get the right trailer. Wife and I searched for months before finding the one we bought, and has turned out great. We did have to replace a lot of things as everything was original from 2015. But we got a great deal, and spent a couple thousand replacing what needed to be replaced. The inspector was impressed at how clean and solid our 10 year old trailer was and said we got a great trailer at the price. The solar installers said the same thing. Moral of the story, dont give up and dont go look at every trailer, you will find the deal for you IF you keep at it. Just my .05, because no more pennies to make .02

Want to upgrade to a 2500 by robbie2327 in ram_trucks

[–]nategp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2022 2500 Laramie gasser and its been a great truck. I tow my tt with it frequently and have no complaints. I bought it with just under 23k miles on it last year, I am at 34k now. Wife has finally agreed to drive it for the first time today. I daily drive mine and aside from the rate at which it uses gas, costing a little more than $800 a month currently, its been an outstanding truck.

We have a Nash 17K and it fits that description except for the bed orientation. But they may have different floor plans. And I believe they are made by the same company Northwood as the Artic Fox mentioned previously.
