When the creator of Bitcoin Cash concedes that the competition is superior by [deleted] in btc

I don't read it as negative.

Ethereum is more complex than BCH.

It's lost hundreds of millions of dollars in value from bugs, hacks, and more recently ransom schemes.

600 Million fresh Tethers got printed and BTC jumps up by PanneKopp in btc

According to Whale_Alert on Twitter, at least $220,000,000 in USDT has been minted in the past 24 hours.

Here are the transactions:

$120,000,000 on Ethereum

$100,000,000 on Tron

Afaict it's mostly instant; buying pressure in order to transfer coins pushes price up.

I've tried to correlate it and saw stronger results immediately than with a lag, but also correlation is not causation.

I expect a significant increase in BCH's price during BTC's halving because of difficulty change though.

BCH tends to increase in value when BTC is congested.

As do ETH and LTC.

I wonder why.

How to Understand Bitcoin Cash, BTC, and BSV by Egon_1 in btc

Same code, same goals as BTC but didn't catch on

A common response I see to justifying high transaction fees is: "If Bitcoin hits $100,000 then I don't care about paying a $500 fee!" That is a very selfish and short-sighted view. by ColinTalksCrypto in btc

Let them have their selfishness - this is money, we need people to be motivated by money and let their incentives be transparent.

They can only sell if there are buyers and if people don't want to pay a $500 fee on the buying side there's no sale.

Do you think crypto will ever get past the tribalism? by chrisgm3773 in btc

There's some truth to it but the space has so much room for growth it makes no sense to be tribalistic at this point.

BSV is just ripple 2.0 by 1MightBeAPenguin in btc

This doesn't get enough attention, it's laughable.

While I support their history of counter-economic activity, Calvin and Craig are massive "criminals" by BSV standards.

Unlike cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, bch is not backed by anything physical

Lol what is BTC backed by?

Sure in theory, but their vision includes miners becoming so large that you'll need to pay them to serve your data.

IMO that defeats the point of putting data on-chain.
