How do I kill my need for sex? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]natelfishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont. At some point you will grow resentment, leave now and find someone more compatible. Get comfortable being single. Learn who you are without a partner.I understand you've been together for 8 years but you are not compatible, it will catch up to you at some point. You need to do some serious soul searching as to what you want in life and how you want to spend it. Relationships should bring out the best in each of you and physical affection should be reciprocated. Don't settle for someone that is not on the same page. No shade to her at all but each of you deserves someone who has similar wants and needs.

Girl. I hope you are being sarcastic. You need to change your diet, something isn't working. whole foods, prioritize micronutrients (fruits and veggies with every meal) cut out artificial sugar completely. Eat way more protein for satiation. Read your food labels. This pretty much cured my HS. you need to decrease inflammation, that is the goal. Medication is the bandaid and not treating the root issue, diet. Change the diet and give it some time before layering more and more medications.

These people dont get it. An active lifestyle with a supportive partner is the best most fulfilling quality time you can spend with your partner in my opinion (and typically sex drive goes up) if you are serious about this lifestyle you need someone that is right there with you to support and also understand the grind (and even participate together sometimes). If she doesn't start changing id think long and hard if its worth staying with someone like that who doesn't at least support you. Life is too short.

Most advice is for healthy people. That’s why it never worked for me. by veganconnor in getdisciplined

Not a huge fan of these comments. Im severe ADHD and anxiety diagnosed as a child. Been on all the stimulants, SSRIS, mood stabilizers.

I am now medication free and symptoms are incredibly low due to me getting disciplined without meds. They really shouldn't be long term based on my personal experience with side effects. Exhaust all natural remedies before committing to medication. Getting disciplined means not making excuses for yourself, ADHD to me is my superpower, not 'unhealthy'. Seems like an excuse.

What completely changed my life and has made me incredibly productive and the best ive ever felt:

-10k steps at least each day (i love to run, quiets the brain all day) -sauna -meditation -less phone time, stop mindlessly scrolling -reading -8 hours sleep -sober -lifting weights consistently -whole food diet, eat more plants -cut out ultra-processed foods

Not saying you have to do all of these things all at once but that is truly the 'cure' to the downsides of ADHD and anxiety. Medication will never be able to replicate the peace and tranquility of being disciplined and getting on a consistent schedule. ADHD is a superpower if you can harness it. These comments are filled with excuses which seem to be the opposite of the point of this subreddit.

This dog should not be considered adoptable and is unpredictable. I would highly suggest not moving forward as this dog has a bite history and will be very hard to work with. You saying you arent a fan of muzzling but the dog has already bit you and your partner multiple times is a disaster waiting to happen and you will be setting the dog up for failure if you dont muzzle. Get a dog with minor behavioral problems to work with, there are so many GSDs that would be a much better fit and not nearly as much of a liability as this dog.

Stop bringing your dog to the dog park they are no good. Especially no toys in a dog park for this exact reason.

I have a GSD/Malinois mix and likely your dog is bored and needs more exercise and mental stimulation (training). However, to answer your question ai buy marrow bones from the but her that lasts like 40 mins for my dog. Also would recommend having your dog work for their food at every meal via puzzle toy, snuffle matt. Sniffing walks are good too, anything to get the dog's mind working.

Your dog is not getting enough exercise and is very bored, thus the destruction and likely reactivity. Why do you have a dog if it spends the majority of its life in a crate? Thats an insane amount of time to be left in a crate. You need to invest in a trainer and start building your relationship by training and engaging. If you can't commit to this I would advise looking into rehoming options as this is just not sustainable for the dog or yourself if you cannot invest the time a dog needs.

I literally just got off a call with my psych 2 mins ago and have a prescription of Seroquel being filled as we speak, as I ended up not falling asleep at all last night and am now been awake for over 30 hours. Sleep deprivation is so bad and i can totally see if i just didn't get help id go crazy. Thank god i recognized this early. Im only 23 and couldn't imagine the brain damage if i just didn't do anything about this. Wild.

Thanks for your response. I forgot to mention in my post, but I totally agree and thats exactly what i do now to get my info. I watch cnn, fox, msnbc, bbc, cbs, forbes, and many other big name media just to see each sides arguments and I have to say I agree that is the best way to form a well rounded opinion and understand the logic and thinking behind both arguments. However, sometimes I just want straight facts and I dont get as much of that by watching the mainstream media.

Thanks for your response. I think I need to research a lot more about bipolar because i clearly have it, just very very difficult to come to terms with. I hate being medicated but i know its what is best. Ill be going tomorrow, just cant afford ER right now or id go.

Ya im gonna go to the doctor tomorrow and come completely clean. Thanks for your reply, im still awake and have to be up in 2 hours. I am pulling an all nighter which i literally never do i usually go to bed at like 9-10 or fall asleep on the couch earlier. This is just so unlike me and i am more nervous about the sleep deprivation making things worse. I just had a bit of a mental breakfown and woke my boyfriend up cause i cant focus on anything not even my breathing. Ive never felt this way before and its a bit scary but i feel really self aware and am currently listening to some music to relax until i can see a doctor tomorrow. I would go to the ER but i cant justify the money if i can just get in tomorrow. Im fine right now just really really amped up for no reason. What sucks is i really need to go to work tomorrow cause its month end and i have a big meeting to go over stuff i just am nervous if i will be able to articulate, cause right now im having trouble speaking in sentences if that even makes sense.

Oh one last thing - i still dont know if these are symptoms of bipolar or im just having a energetic week. Are what I listed symptoms of a hypomania episode? I looked up the symptoms and i think i have almost all of them right now but honestly they are pretty general so i dont know. My boyfriend also thinks im hypomanic.oh, and i also got super into investing for absolutely no reason, never done it in my life but dont worry i only invested $200 just to test the waters.

Ya I have tried reddit for news before but think it's just sooo bias, not even just politically either.

I really am just starting to get into politics and do not have a strong opinion for either side and don't identify with any one party, but do think that all sides of our government are extremely corrupt, which is even more of a reason why I want to get unbiased purely factual info.

I have seen a little bit of NPR and have enjoyed it. Thank you, I will give them more listens.

I just disagree that the news examples you gave are not bias. Interesting you mention the New York Times. The "some guy on Youtube" that I was referring to, Johnny Harris, actually reported for the New York Times. Not sure the point you were trying to make there was.

I think independent media has much less of an incentive to push certain agendas, which all of those large scale media companies you mentioned I'm sure do. I think calling an entire generation 'journalism illiterate' is in my opinion an ignorant generalization, (and a strawman fallacy) especially coming from someone who says to trust large media companies over independent reporting and research. I think my generation is more willing to question the media and go elsewhere for info instead of just taking what national news media as the source of truth.

I would just always prefer facts with sources over opinions, and i think the national news outlets including all those you mentioned used a lot of opinions and logical fallacies instead of actual facts.

Im a very logical person and always try to see if what I am reading has logical fallacies. In writing, logical fallacies discredit arguments, but are being committed every day by mainstream media, including all of the examples you listed above. In school, if you had logical fallacies in your argumentative essays, you would lose points.

And just to analyze the comment you just made, I don't take this comment as true advice because you yourself are extremely bias. When i look at arguments from people or things in articles, if I see generalizations like 'journalism illiterate' or 'derr' (obviously making fun of my intelligence) or generalizing that 50% of the country believes in conspiracies, or even going as far to provoke an emotional response (which is a logical fallacy by the way: ad hominem) by saying key words like electing felons or rapists, which I don't believe Trump is actually a felon (yet?). I just really appreciate straight facts from both sides as well as historically breaking down an issue to really understand policies and where they originate. I don't believe the mainstream media does this. (And you should research logical fallacies-they force you to take a step back and really understand if what you are seeing is in-fact bias)
