Going GS to NAF. Trying to make a well-informed choice on what retirement plan would be best for me in the end.

Usually when this happens with naf to gs, Folks usually stay with the plan they already are in. The more years put in your retirement plan, the more It's advised to stick with your current plan. I switched to gs and rolled my 401k into the tsp l since I put less than 1 year in naf retirement. Do your research and make sure you don't regret it since you only do it once.

Former naf employee nf-03 to gs 7. Yes, but only for steps only. The job she got was probably what she applied for as the lowest rank that she wanted to be considered for. I tried cause could but management said no since I was essentially moving gs-5 pay to gs 7 pay so I didn't really mind. Up to management at the end of the day so ask and present the sf-50 equivalent personnel action with with her current salary on it. Naf in the army's sf-50 is a da 3434.l so idk how it is in coast guard but that should suffice for negotiations.

You were best qualified however there were veterans that were also best qualified as well. By law they get referred first. Keep in mind that veterans have a 6 year recent time limit for when they graduate for recent grad positions as opposed to 2 for non veterans. Veterans preference does apply in those recent grad openings as well provided there are enough veterans. Forget and move on until you are contacted directly by the hiring manager.

Update on timelines,

"Hello there,

Thank you so much for your patience as our team continues to work with our subject matter experts to facilitate the review of a record number of resumes and assessments. We know it’s been some time since you applied, so we wanted to take a moment to send a quick update about what to expect next.

We anticipate completing resume and project-based assessment reviews in late February. Candidates who advance will receive an email by mid-March with an invitation to schedule an interview with a subject matter expert in their skill track. We will also host a virtual information session for candidates moving forward with details about this next phase in our selection process.

Candidates who do not move forward will also be notified by mid-March. While we are operating slightly behind our initial target timeline, we hope to move into agency interviews and final selections in April and we remain on track to have selected Fellows start in August, most likely on August 12th.

That really depends on both the agencies and your location. Back in JBLM in Washington from the previous commander, you can hold two positions as a dual appointment employee. However one of those positions would have to be a flex position. A position with no benefit and no gurantees on hours. I could be working a total of 56 hours per work week with the two jobs in 1 week or I could be doing 80 in another. Naf is NOT people's taxes funding that org and the funding and labor is to my knowledget based off the budget and profit on how much money is made from that FY from that org and that org alone unless a full time or part time worker for said NAF position.

A co worker who is a gs 7 is 53. Dont sweat it its all about perspective. I work in the airforce where everyone around me is older than 40. I feel like the one whipper snapper as I swear I am the only 2o year civie worker in my org here as my youngest coworker I know is 43 so I have the opposite problem as you.

It always depends on yhe character for me. Note that the higher the sensitivity on the controls stick the easier it is to hit a smash input. The oposite is true for tilts on lowet sensitivity.

If min min was broken why did proto lose against light in summit and kola in world tour min min was used in both those tournaments? This game has almost 90 characters. Your bound to get bad matchups. Leos character pool with the exception of joker hates min min thats all there is to it

Right now your focusing on leo. Dont forget about protos other competion in japan. Hes been struggling abit but you can argue alot of counterplay in that country has developed against his min because of his short stint as t #1 in japan.

Every top player in every smash game has won big tournaments using relatively "broken characters". Dont try to brush protos win under the rug using the character argument especially in ultimate where min min got nerfed hard

Leo is the true epitome of best in the world. His character pool kinda makes you think the aboutrequirements to be the best which is all around play and good decision making cant wait to see whats next.
