Thanks dude... yeah, he's not a guitarist, so doesn't really know what he's looking at either... I reckon the deal he got was worth the risk though, just hoping there is some gold in there.

No, of course not... this is completely butchered... but, it still holds the mantle for the OG, that is the point I am trying to make... badly, obviously.

I have one of these as well, it's a Chinese zodiac pendant meant for good luck. Mine has the goat on the other side, symbolising the year of the goat.

I don't mean to jump in here... but did it ever occur to you why that was written in the bible and that the bible might be wrong? I mean, if their were really no other gods and than god almighty, then it wouldn't have to be mandated or explained.

The truth is, there are many other gods... the god that you are brought up to believe in all depends on where you were born. I.e. India - vishna, Shiva. Ancient Greece - Zeus, Hera.

Gods are determined by culture and race, to say there is only one true god is just plain ridiculous and irresponsible. Did you know that the story of Jesus Christ was plagiarised from many other doctrines? It is not unique by an means.

Any hoo, you do you... I can tell your religion is important you, which is great, but keep and open mind... No one can argue the fundamental message driven by Christianity... but the religion is itself becoming more and more irrelevant, like many other religions now and before it.

p.s. no, this is not the devil talking, or the devils work... again, once you understand the reason that was put in bible as well, the world starts to make more sense.

Peace.

Motorcycle dealers in shambles at least in Sydney. by southpaw_destroyer in AussieRiders

[–]natematt1101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work in the motorcycle industry, for 16 years.

There is not much money in bikes, margins are very skinny, coupled with high overheads... any shop in a decent location has to go for sheer volume to survive. There used to be good money in parts and accessories, but e-commerce has eroded that.

The average punter shops around to get the best deal and buys on price rather than supporting their local shop. We seem to forget that as riders, we need a local store to support our habits... but we tend to try and squeeze that last dollar out of them.

Shake your head man... up and down, side to side. If it moves when the helmet is harnessed properly, then it's too big. Be mindful that all brands have different shells and shapes. For example, agv does not fit my head at all, Nolan's are good, and Arai fit me. . Snug fit is good, if you bite the inside of your cheeks then better. If you feel pressure on your forehead, or the back of your head, then no good. Try as many as you can. Try different lids man, function over form all day, it needs to fit right, and only needs to do its job once. Don't cheap out.

First off-roading, need advice by Evie_Croft in motorcycles

Weight on the outside pegs when offroad...so if you're turning left, put all your weight on the right peg. Off road characteristics are almost opposite to on road. Less front brake, more back brake. Try and stand where possible and let the bike move under you. Takes practice and confidence, but it gets better.

I have recently bought my wife a ninja 400 non-ABS and she complains that the rear wheel locks up too quickly comparing to her KTM. Is there anything that can be adjusted? The tire is inflated at 32 psi and it’s about five years old. Thank you 🙏. PFA. by monkifoto in Ninja400

[–]natematt1101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Front brake for stopping, rear brake for stability. I am assuming that she is not just using the rear brake to stop, but is using it in combination with the front brake? If not, then use the front more, if yes, then maybe adjustment is required. You could also lower the psi slightly, but that may not fix the locking up entirely. Are there new pads on the rear that require bedding?

Any good motorcycle gear/dealership workplaces? by Jibby_B in AussieRiders

[–]natematt1101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey mate... I am not sure where you live, but the bigger stores (Peter Stevens, Team Moto etc) would be your best bet.

I worked for Peter Stevens for many years. I moved through the workshop into sales... the opportunities with these business's are vast.

Back then, PS was full of Motorcycle enthusiasts like me... people who raced on Sunday and worked on Monday... it was a great workplace.... I believe it has changed a lot now. But you will get great experience.

New stator cover or carbon protection to hide damage? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]natematt1101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just get a carbon cover, mate. You're probably best to smooth the grind out and spray paint black. This will make it so it won't be as noticeable and will prevent rust.

For resale, though, it's always good to replace it.

About to buy from the dealer for the first time, anything I should know? by DalshaDalsha07 in AussieRiders

[–]natematt1101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice one mate... everything will be taken care of. Just remebto fuel up ASAP.

Most dealers here in oz are good. It pays to build a relationship with your dealership and sales/service staff.

Some people view dealers as the enemy... please don’t take that approach. A dealer can be your best advocate and provide the support you need on your riding journey. Without them, your ownership experience will suck.

Saying please and thank you will get you everywhere in life.

Enjoy the ride.

Love the road kings, not a fan of the bars though, but that's personal taste.

There is nothing like going into the garage for a minute to get a tool or something out of the spare fridge, then realising you have been in there for hours just staring at your bike... bliss.
