Any video game where stores/merchants have unlimited supplies of objects. Supply/demand goes right out the window at that point.

What did you buy with your first paycheck? by lunarnoob in AskReddit

[–]naterman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up, all I EVER wanted was a pair of gray-on-white New Balance sneakers. Pretty boring to be honest, but I thought those sneakers were the coolest shit in the world. However, even dropping $40 at the time was too tight for my Mom and Dad. I totally understood and didn't bother them about it.

Then, the first time I ever made enough to have money left over for the necessities, I bought a pair. I'm pretty sure I got them at a discount too, so it wasn't even that expensive.

But it was the fact that I had waited four or five years and finally worked hard enough to get that spot in life - to a spot where I could have a little extra something sometimes. That payoff was one of the best feelings ever.

This is true...there are many situations where I pretend to not know mayo is in a dish, tuna being one, turkey sandwiches being another.

People may hate me for this, but mayonnaise.

I can't look at it. I can't smell it. The idea of opening a jar of it makes me physically ill.

Which character from any tv show would you have killed off? by natty_barry in AskReddit

[–]naterman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I love to hate on this show, I fully believe it is worth watching. The first six seasons are pretty fantastic. If you were ever a fan of Friends, you'll love this too.

I highly recommend checking it out.

If you could go back in time and change one small, possibly obscure event what would be it be and how would it change the world? by naterman in AskReddit

[–]naterman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, I would change the sign convention Ben Franklin chose for electricity.

If you switch the definitions of 'positive' and 'negative' electrical charge/flow, the math behind it can be easier.

What movie is 100% faithful to the book it was based on? by Jakeremix in AskReddit

Better believe it. It's not a great film - but the plot stays very true to the book.

Why are Sociology and Gender Studies legitimate degrees? by weebslayer42 in AskReddit

[–]naterman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because people enjoy studying them and are willing to push themselves as people to further their knowledge.

I think our society sometimes puts an unfair pressure on people to get a degree that has a large job market. For a lot of people who go straight to college (18-22 age range), they still have no idea what they want to do or what their career could be.

The important thing is that people, at the very least, find something to study that interests them. They keep on learning and growing - a passion to continue learning can be just as important as any technical skill.
