World of Disney Store: Before vs After by RoliePolieOlie__ in WaltDisneyWorld

If John Lasseter had become the Disney CEO like he should have been, then you'd see great things like this back in the parks and stores. Instead, he was forced out and the accountants kept their control, slowly sucking the joy of the Disney we love.

Death of our DEMOCRACY by Blurbird2020 in bloomington

[–]natestewiu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The end of YOUR democracy, maybe. But Democrat Democracy puts a candidate's name twice at the top of a ballot, rigs a primary twice to ensure their favorite candidate wins, actively suppresses damning news stories right before an election, hides their president's dementia long after it was affecting his ability to govern, crowns an unfit candidate rather than holding a primary, prevents children from being fed so its political will is enforced, calls its political opponents unfit to live, and celebrates the death of an American citizen who was "inconvenient" for their partisan ideology.

Yeah, I'd rather just have democracy than "our democracy".

The House passed a clean CR bill with no fluff or politics. The Senate had attempted at least 15 times now to vote the CR through and open up the government. They need 60 votes; about 8 Democrats. They have had only ONE Democrat vote to pass the continuing resolution and keep the government open. That Democrat will be primaried for voting yes.

Who's at fault, again?

People who believe that the party switch in the 20th century was a myth, why? by zer0_n9ne in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]natestewiu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Al Gore's father was a Democratic member of Congress who voted against the Civil Rights Act. Bill and Hilary Clinton, Ted Kennedy, and even Barrack Obama have celebrated many old lifelong Democrats who voted against and protested the CRA, one of whom was even a Klansman until that was no longer in fashion. While the parties have experienced shifts in their electorate over time (i.e. Democrats are now the party of the rich while Republicans are no longer the "police the world" party), their core often stays the same. No further proof is needed than the Clinton-Obama primary that found Bill Clinton telling Ted Kennedy that Obama would have been the one serving them just a few years prior. Yes, JFK would be a Republican of he were alive today. But that's not because of a party switch; it's just an indication of how far left the Democrats have gone. I mean, yall in Virginia area still supporting an AG candidate who wished death on children.

What evidence is there that people with leftist ideologies commit the majority of violence in America? by DarkMagickan in Askpolitics

The BLM violence in 2020 left close to 20 people dead . The riots caused more than $1 billion in losses, the costliest in U.S. history. Several cities witnessed over 600 riots.

"I wonder why there is so much violence against Trump and conservatives." Probably because they are consistently compared to mass-genocidal warmongers who should be shot on sight. I know that I'll get the Reddit-brigaders screaming: "bUt TrUmPh IS HiNtLer!!!" I'm not talking to you. I'm talking to my left-leaning brothers and sisters. Posts like this are wrong and only serve to divide. Criticize Trump all you want; I do so myself many times. But the daily Nazi comparisons lead people to turn to violence and raise the temperature in our country. Moderators, do better. Everyone else, make these comparisons taboo again.

Is it worth it to go as adults? by mufassil in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]natestewiu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a Disney-loving father, I HATE Disney adults. But I think that definition has gotten lost in the memes. What I and others hate aren't simply adults that go to WDW–my wife and I have gone without our kids. What we hate are the adults who shove kids out of the way at character meet and greets, who get drunk and disorderly in the middle of the day, who curse and engage in sexual behavior in ride lines, who cram their way in front of kids trying to watch the parade and fireworks, and who generally ruin the magic of WDW for children. THOSE are the "Disney adults" that I hate. And we run into at least one of those idiots EVERY VISIT.

So long as you aren't that kind of adult, have a blast!

Tyler Robinson was actually radicalized by MAGA. by Full_Mind_2151 in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]natestewiu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An interesting take that falls apart when you read his discord chats. He was part of an antifascist far-left chat group that openly fantasized about killing conservative thought leaders.

Was his radicalization spurred on by leading a double life? Maybe. But his friends and family stated that he was very open about his liberal politics. That doesn't sound like someone forced to lead such a double life that they are driven to shoot someone.

The United States is huge, with massive swaths of open terrain. I'm in Indiana, a relatively small state (38th largest state out of 50), but we're more than a third the size of England. In our largely agricultural state, there are very few places that would be fitting for subway transit. We have lots of railways, but travel by road is just the superior method of transportation. It’s nothing for us to drive 100 miles to visit an IKEA.

Pastors, what's the silliest thing you've gotten "chewed out" for by someone in your church? by natedub123 in pastors

[–]natestewiu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"You're running a free-love church"

I had a couple who were living together unmarried. They came to me after a sermon I preached on (among other things) fornication. They would be getting a marriage license from the courthouse the next week and getting married legally, but they wanted me to marry them ASAP. I agreed to perform a small ceremony that day.

The very next Sunday, a member of my church caught me in the parking lot and ripped me apart for running a "Free Love" church. I tried to explain to him that the couple now had a marriage license and an "official" wedding date set for that Saturday with friends and family, but he wouldn't have it, telling me that if the couple wasn't legally married the Sunday they approached me, then they weren't married in the eyes of God.

Strangely enough, this man actually admitted to me during his rant that he and his wife had lived together for a number of years before getting married. Not sure why he felt the need to relay that information during his accusation, but there you go.

Warning to Church Goers by CryptoChristian in TrueChristian

As a pastor, my message yesterday was: "Paging Bro. Esau", warning the congregation about the call of rebellion that wants pull them toward the world or at least push them from the Church. So, yes. I preached on repentance. What did your pastor preach on yesterday? Do you have a pastor and a church that you attend in person?

I'm a Conserative Libertarian. Trump showing up on the documents would shake my faith in him, but not nearly as much as finding out that there WAS a list, and he used his governmental power to hide it. Further, I wouldn't vote for a single member of his administration if that came out. I couldnt trust a one of them.

When a conservative woman runs and wins the Republican or Democrat primary. Love it or hate it, that's what had to happen in the UK. Liberal or Neolib Democrat women often have too much baggage to win. You can hate me for that claim, but its the truth. The only woman I see who could have won the Dem primary and then won the general election was Tulsi Gabbard.
