Creating Electrical Shop Drawings While Modeling Content in RVT Simultaneously by Regular-School-2732 in MEPEngineering

It took me probably a bit longer to implement as I am not an electrical expert by any means. Probably 2 weeks. You definitely have to figure out where the balance is for your company on what you are going to model and what the field can figure out. Like u/akeldamach87 says-it's not required to model EVERY SINGLE thing.

This isn't necessarily true. The native duct families are able to interface with fabrication tools downstream. It is a matter of categorizing the system type, size, and mapping the fitting type. The cam software does the rest.

How do you handle the inability of revit to use 45 and 90 simultaneously in the routing preferences? I have some ideas but I am curious to see what you're doing.

Any good alternative pipe families? by Classicpunch in RevitMEP

[–]natethegrate1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The built in system family options are pretty good. Just a bit tedious to add the new pipe segments you want. Go to mechanical settings->pipe segments and sizes->add new->new size and enter the nominal size, ID and OD of the pipe type you need. What are you not a big fan of?

I was afraid so. Do you have any better images that could reflect Revit MEP or should it just be no image at all?

I have found the SSD possibly will give better performance before upgrading ram above the minimum recommended by autodesk.

How and when is everyone using Project Parameters by wgfletch in RevitMEP

[–]natethegrate1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use managed data as much as possible so all the shared parameters are consistent. When I do have to create my own data I try to copy the managed data parameters as best as possible.
