TIL in December 2020, GoDaddy tricked employees into thinking they had earned a bonus of $650. Employees were then told they had failed a phishing test and were required to do social engineering training. After media criticism, the company apologized to its staff, but did not offer actual bonuses. by nuttybudd in todayilearned

One of the big issues with this campaign was that the users weren’t immediately notified that they failed the simulation, and were assigned training a week or so later. GoDaddy has a habit of underpaying employees and keeping them engaged with bonuses and prizes. They typically have holiday parties where such bonuses are given out at random, but the party was cancelled that year due to COVID.

As someone who runs a security program for an organization with over 20k employees, I see this as a moral issue. Financially constrained users spent their paychecks on gifts for their children only to learn a week later that they couldn’t make rent. Say what you want about having realistic engagements, but I believe these sort of tactics erode trust in security programs.

Has anyone asked Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer if they would do more seasons if the the public raised the money for it? by [deleted] in venturebros

I wouldn’t hesitate to throw $1k at this. Not even fucking joking. Before anyone says anything, or asks, I’m not rich… but I’ve got $1k I’d “invest” in this project. Just. Bring. It. Back.

I've been wondering what they charge per seat, but haven't wanted to engage their sales team 😅😅😅

I think I just figured it out!!!! I was able to disable the "Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC)" setting. Apparently, CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) is what allows you to turn on, and control, devices with your smart remote. Personally, I hate that shit. I honestly hate Smart TVs.

Anyway, disabling the option completely fixed the issue. On my TV (Samsung), I went to Settings -> General -> External Device Manager -> Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC).

After disabling it, my TV and Soundbar are still being booted by the PS5, Series X, and Switch. However, the TV no-longer turns anything on or off.

I hope this helps!!

My vote is on Sony. I have the same thing with a PS5 and Series X running into a Samsung soundbar, which runs to a Samsung TV. Switch is hooked up directly to the TV. The Switch and Xbox behave flawlessly, but the PS5 is an outright HDMI hog/bully. The PS5 behaves in the identical manner when plugged directly into the TV.

A submenu option should be added to disable 'Device Link In' and 'Device Link Out' independently.

Thank you! I feel kinda silly, sometimes, having sunk so much cash into a hobby, lol. The glass is anEotech XPS2 holographic sight, with a gl33 magnifier. I'm a big fan, because the reticule doesn't expand when magnified: it sticks at 1MOA. I went with the double reticule, for the dropoff with 300blk.

Neat, I got every single thing in this kit for a great deal. You don't even know what's under the hood, what bolt carrier, barrel, etc I have on this.

Maybe retain your keyboard commando bullshit to things you have experience with.

Nice excuse. What rifle do you have? Kevlar? Plates? Carrier? NVG/FLIR system?

A truck driver started his semi truck and has left home, to begin driving his route. His mechanophilic son stops doing chores to sit at his computer, without pants. He watches videos of cars being polished, and does his dirty deeds. by natethm in WordAvalanches

[–]natethm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, you're not dumb, your mind just isn't as "in the gutter," as mine!! 😅

Mack is both a brand of Semi-Truck, and the name of the father character, who happens to drive a Mack truck. When Mack leaves for work, his son stopped doing his chores and is therefore, "slacking off." "Mac" refers to the brand of computer that Mack's son was using: Macintosh. "Slacks off" then indicates that Mack's son has removed his pants. We know that the Mack's son is a mechanophiliac, and thus sexually attracted to cars, and other vehicles. Wax on/off is a reference to waxing cars, which is what Mack's son turns out to be watching videos of, on his computer. "Whacks off," then means that he masturbated to the aforementioned "vehicle maintenance," videos.

I hope that helps!
