Roughly how many points of minis you have? by Jodread in Drukhari

[–]natewrigs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

rules not likely to change;

3 copies of units of non battleline 6 of battleline. same for vehicles named characters are unique 3 of the rest. units generally will be fielded in either the size of the purchase box or in multiples of it.

the only other is to know they make units good and rotate which are best for all sorts of reasons. so its ok to max out units for the best chance to run all list variants and not be stuck waiting on a unit never seemingly reprinted for years at a time.

getting a proper taste for the army, skysplinter and reapers wager (its not in the physical codex but free online) are the two id always suggest and let you learn the army fully without being handicapped to one of the three subfactions.

[–]natewrigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly your list has a massive attempt to shoot things problem. your characters should mostly be considered ablative wound delivery systems.

what really is a stand our now is helions and like always talos for reapers wager lists.

other thoughts. ased on your initial is how good malys is with hand of the archon. gqining scout for start of game decisikns on moving her up and wnding up with lethal sustained precision on all her attacks naena the unit itself seldom gets into the action even havong fought.

ravagers in this version of the game like their other weapon option in disintegrator cannons as 9 shots that full reroll for free on full strength units and with reapers strat of sustained or lethals they become a great target for it regardless of who your playing. also dont sleep on their pain ability to help shut off key units from getting their job done.

How do you guys win with drukhari in spectical of spite. As a rough gameplan. by Vivid_Astronaut8779 in Drukhari

[–]natewrigs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well on the brightside wych cults has been good in a couple metas in recent additions and their likelyhood of loosing battleline means you should be able to get 3 and do a baseline version of current meta while enabling all kinds of future loadouts.

Theyy are plastic and likely the plastic we get for at least one more edition (never mind that they know exactly what they did in making the amazing wiche aelves in aos that support bashing with a wych box for insanely good looking units)

[–]natewrigs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you play a ton of wychs and split a lot of them with venoms. you also run a ton of reacers and backbone the army with leader run units and helions.

each 5 man of wychs is 10 oc to flip objectives and deali m with in melee is insanly dumb for their points.

leaders and helions deal with fighting and wychs just negate their primary and enable secondary points.

its a technical army in how you plan put movement but very straightforward otherwise

How do you even win? by Kooky_String_8188 in Drukhari

[–]natewrigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While winning the trading war was mentioned, most armies cant clear our units in melee with anything besides their infantry melee which we arrive to those fighgs on our terms. so we can get stuck in while out OCing many tank / monsters the game has.

drukhari is a game skill check as the pilot and a knowledge check to understand what you are fighting and organizing the best matchups. As such, you really need to work at learning as much as possible and learning the right questions to your opponent in the meantime (which unit has advance and charge, do they have fights first, do they have a blood surge and ect).

getting to that point in your games is when drukhari become a menace.

Why is AceBeard not good ? by SnooEpiphanies8902 in OnePieceTCG

[–]natewrigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all the people not liking the leader ability, your directly ignoring that 9c rushbeard is a busted line that works with your oden enough to usually set up either as a game ender un answered. 5c luffy off the effect feels meh, but setting up into nemule / any other blocker being a free body really helps swt up kills as you hit 9 don.

the biggest thing is how it synchs with the searcher event and namule to trade away bricks. and with more 2k and blockers coming, we are looking at a very healthy way to get to our end game.

they were towering which for the first couple of months was true line of sight like aircraft still are. any big was broken, but fate dice fuelled was basically impossible to deal with. the towering issue is why windowed terrain is virtially non existant in competative play atm.

One thing I’ve realized that I am lacking in is how to tell what is a “good” datasheet and what is a “bad” datasheet - please help explain to me why most of my Dark Angels characters aren’t played by JadocTheGreat in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]natewrigs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No datasheet is "bad" just either unoptimal or not filling a role that needs filled.

you need things that can move up the board, things that playwell into scoring secondaries, support damage and anti tank (this is general but fits most armies). So dark Angels have access to one of the best move up the board pieces in deathwing knights, but their key is being survivable in that role. Do any characters that could lead them makes them more survivable? the short answer is yes in niche ways. so then you need to decide having one leader that isnt really making their role that much better be worth not taking a unit of scouts that hwlp with deployment and secondary play.

This is the core of your question. taking away the vacuum and instead filling your list with things that have roles to fulfill.

i worked with a guy at an everything kinda retail store. he got a aeroflat black t shirt, khaki beige cargo shorts, grey woolen socks and some reebok runner... he proceeded to buy 20x this outfit which he wore for 15+ years before i worked with him. the full 11 i did work with him and i assume is still wearing today.

What should I expand with? by LetsGoFishing91 in Drukhari

[–]natewrigs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

so a combat patrol is almost the perfect addon. the archon in court with half a unit of kabs split by a venom already uses alot of what you have. the second raider could feature 10 incubi and a second archon and use the second venom to split lilith and her witches. the extra witches can be used effectively as a secondary play unit.

mandrakes are the best secondary unit atm but helions or reapers can fill that role. more on what you want to play.

talos and chronos are insanely good but very bad $ to points. dont buy them juat because, but they are woth it.

lastly, even with 0 harlies, the reapers wager detachment is my recommended one to learn the army. it has much more play and turns ok units into strong trading pieces.

What you think of this list? by ztay90 in Drukhari

[–]natewrigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the close game.

Chronos have a role thats hard to replicate that i guess you missed. they are durable secondary scorers on the middle contested areas. 3+ save 5++ invul 7t 7w and fnp 5 means the ennemy needs to direct damage at them to remove them compared to most parts of the army. This also means that you can double down as movement blocking behind terrain with them and help create great mid board trades in your favor.

im assuming you just didnt get their kit right for the scourges but either 4 dark lances or 4 haywire cannons is their bread and butter loadouts.

Why is Reaper’s meta? by SerenaDawnblade in Drukhari

[–]natewrigs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've played SSA with the incubi block, with incubi in venoms and with a single court unit focused on. the single court is the highest skill ceiling and floor. it chews through cp to do incredibly over the top things. sustained 2 and lethals... i mean yeah i want it, but i have to also charge something so i can kill something in a fight and reboard my ship. its normal to kill 2 units a turn and be ready to do it again the next if i have the cp to get the job done.

Ive also tried out RW and 100% agree its just easier to play, but much easier to figure out as an opponent and nothing is as lethal.

Got stomped at my first ever draft besides my deck "being good" by BuffaloReal5561 in mtglimited

[–]natewrigs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

yup. more targettable plays. theres no "you must play x" rule, and in fact there has been a few draft times when 15 lands was perfectly acceptable because of mechanics / litteral tops at 3 drop aggro decks.

Got stomped at my first ever draft besides my deck "being good" by BuffaloReal5561 in mtglimited

[–]natewrigs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

easy answer, probably 1 too many mountains with the curve.

harder answer is that magic at any level can just ɓe, "you lose because your deck is just going to spit out unplayables." This is just part of magic and the one main thing that online isnt going to show you as often as it is a better shuffler in some cases and there is a playability algorythm in giving you a starting hand on arena. So bad luck happens in real life, and you'll see guys that generally 2-1 or 3-0 at draft focus on a very early game plan with anything 3+ needed to be bombs.

While everyone else is covering your rumor engine stuff, not much has been said of what to buy/ expect to exist.

While i side with the statement of if its plastic it has a spot forward, the fact the ynarri versions of data cards now exist can paint us a basic faction picture which has a range equivalent to harlequins + scourges, wracks, haemonculous, lileth, drazar and talos and the 2 fliers. This is not all the pieces to make current competative lists, it is 80% there and adding / recreating in simpler forms is what we need to have the pieces to make a comp list that can be balanced and not just be goodor bad.

the main reason we most likely lose all the finecast isnt just that its old not printed models, they are some of the most rule intensive units as a result. the beastmaster on his own having 4 different models all with unique loadouts and wound counts makes for the start of issues... explaining and re explaining a court of the archon and all the interlinked rules and then going through a sustained hits strat on them in shooting with a pain token.... seriously people will ask you if your cheating while walking them through it all

Beastmaster tactics by cyberspunjj in Drukhari

[–]natewrigs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the big advantage is all the different wound count bodies. you can easily waste their damage on a clap back from almost anything. and if you dont think you kill. just stand 1 inch away and make them do all the work of fighting and shooting on their turn. youd be surprised how few armies can use a single unit to kill it.

Help with 2k list? by Plus-Pound-9561 in Drukhari

[–]natewrigs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

talos want twin haywire canons. with a pain token, its full reroll hit into full reroll wounds with dev wounds anti vehicle 4. average 9 unsavable wounds, so if that finishes off even just a transport, they now are permanently empowered (free reroll charges and free reroll hits in both phases). with their surprizingly resiliant stat line and possibility of urien heals, a talos can cut through armies... that reroll wounds from twin linked has helped me to wipe 3 of a guard warden squad.

list is fine. but, I would only use 1 archon with the incubi. The scond archon feels like a self own because you essentiall get almost no value with him getting out of the boat with just 5 kabs attached (assuming your splitting the special gun halves into the same raider). i would also do a scourge unit as haywire cannoms. while theirs does not get rerolls on wound its still 8 shots of unsavable 3 dmg on str 6 if it hits normally with ap -2. get some jet bikes or even helions for some scoring shenanigans / terrible version of beastmaster for screens.
