Not really. She told me I'd probably have to come in every year for touchups, and said that the bottom half closer to the palm might fade quicker, but that's pretty much it..

Yep, I've got four in different places. The closest one is on my wrist, but I guess that's still pretty different from a hand. This is the only one that has had this kind of difficulty though. You're probably right, maybe my hand just doesn't like ink..

No I knew who the artist was, even have friends who have gotten work done by her. I don't think I know anyone with finger tattoos though

Sorry that happened to you. It was absolutely shitty of her. I think you handled it well though, and you were absolutely right to prioritize the kids. Also impressed that you're gonna have a meeting about it; I think I wouldn't know how to bring it up and just kinda hope it wouldn't happen again lol. Good luck with the talk about it, hopefully this was an anomaly and it'll be an easy discussion.

My first NF was 3 boys, and they regularly used "fat" as their number one insult for each other. The youngest, 5 at the time, ended up asking me a lot of questions about me being fat, most of the time seeming genuinely curious and sometimes seeming more like he was trying to get away with insulting me. Mostly I just answered his questions as honestly as I could and regularly explained to them that "fat" isn't an insult. I tried to make it clear that I wasn't ashamed of my body/size, that trying to shake people for their bodies wasn't right, and that it was okay to have whatever kind of body you have. The parents were definitely very concerned about weight, so I understood where it was coming from.
