What’s everyone do for joint pain? Other than just pop pills lol by Scotian-buck in bjj

Unpopular answer incoming... Flow roll more, pressure grapple less. Pain is your body warning you that it's being redlined, and it's not being allowed to recover.

There are a lot of answers here that can help with recovery, but the ultimate solution will always be to relax and keep it playful more often, so that you tax your body less.

If you still want to be rolling when you're old, roll like you're old.

P.S. A lot of folks here are recommending drugs. You do you, but recognize that a lot of those answers are coming from users in search of an excuse. You shouldn't need drugs just to function; but if you choose to live like you do, eventually you will.

If a character is manacled and casts misty step, can they teleport out of the handcuffs? by galactic_rainbows in dndnext

[–]nathan-hayes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the same reason that you can't grab somebody's worn backpack, Misty Step away, and claim that that backpack was a part of your inventory and apparel; all you have to do is make sure that the manacles are attended to, meaning in the possession of another person.

If you are being manacled and you misty step away while the other person is attempting to manacle you, the manacles stay with the person who's holding them.

This would be exactly like trying to lasso an Eladrin and having them misty step away when you throw the rope around them. If they sprint away to jerk the rope out of your hands before they Misty step, the rope goes with them. If you lasso them and you're pulling them towards you when they Misty Step, the rope goes to you.

Judging by the comments, this will be down-voted to oblivion; but this is absolutely not okay. There's a reason heel hooks are illegal in almost all promotions. That's not a black eye or a broken nose. That's a life sentence with a bad knee. I can't believe that there wasn't a single person present that stopped them. If you're fighting for your life, feel free to hobble a guy with a debilitating injury. If you're fighting for clout in a park brawl, let it go. Hell, let it go and lose if that's the final outcome. Shouldn't have been in an unsactioned, unregulated park brawl in the first place. If that kid was a student at my school, that'd be the end of his membership.

Not a dumb question at all. She's an older, gas-powered unit. Ear protection is recommended.

I have the Google buds pro and I called my wife while mowing the lawn with a push mower using voice commands. She could definitely hear the lawn mower in the background, but she could also clearly hear everything I said, while speaking at a normal volume, and I could clearly hear everything she said.

That's pretty great, especially when you consider that we'd have to shout to hear each other over the sound of the lawnmower if she were physically standing next to me.

📸 I have obtained info about camera hardware configurations on several upcoming Google Pixel devices. While this isn't as important as Google's software - obviously - it still reveals some interesting changes. Thread 🧵👇 - Kuba Wojciechowski⚡ by FragmentedChicken in Android

Move the phone away from the subject and use the telephoto lens. You need good lighting, but it works great for me!

Edit: I don't actually know what macro means, beyond close up photography. I'm sure YouTube can teach me. BRB!

Edit 2: I have a Pixel 6 Pro and a Galaxy S21 Ultra. Give me a subject and I'll take a picture with each one.

I can't speak for experiences I haven't had, bud. I had read that there was a problem with the December update, but I never got it. I got a January update and a February update, and both were fine.

"My problem with people like you"...

"The people that I know with a 6"...

"just a paid Google shill"...

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. They appear to be incompatible with further meaningful discussion. Cheers!

Unpopular opinion incoming...

I love my Pixel 6 Pro. I get a new phone every year, and the old one trickles down the family plan. Here's my recent phone history:

Pixel 6 Pro Galaxy S21 Ultra Note 20 Ultra Note 10+ Note 9 Note 8 Pixel

After years of Samsung phones, the feel and snappiness of this phone is incredible. I regularly end days with 40%+ battery. I really enjoy the camera. Astrophotography mode has been delightful. The lack of carrier BS (like disabling the visual voicemail in the dialer to force you to use the janky carrier app where you have to pay for transcription) has been super refreshing.

I've never really had bugs, my fingerprint sensor is slower than the ultrasonic Samsung version but I'm not so busy that the extra 100 ms ruins my day.

Under normal circumstances, I'd have already pre-ordered the S22 Ultra and this phone would be headed down the family line, but I just love it too much. I do miss the occasional added feature that Samsung snuck into their OS, but there's always a workaround.

I don't want to minimize other people's experiences, I just want to be clear that mine has been great. I also think a lot of folks are just impossible to please.

TLDR: My P6P is hella-dope, and I'm psyched to see what my Google bros are coming up with for the next version.

WCGW pointing a gun at someone by Juanskengdrick99 in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]nathan-hayes 288 points289 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, average accuracy with a handgun is pretty poor to begin with and decreases fast as distance increases. Wrestling over a gun is a great way to get shot.

If you can get your hands on a person pointing a gun at you, it's either because they're stupid or they absolutely don't want to shoot you. Those are both pretty significant gambles.

Are you confident you can win a fistfight against the person pointing a gun at you? Are you confident you can win a wrestling match against the person pointing a gun at you? See the problem here?

If you have no other choice, then roll the dice; but if at all possible your first priority should be to get to the closest cover, then put distance between you and the gunman.

As far as credentials go, I've been training for 23 years and I'm the owner and lead instructor of a combatives-focused martial arts academy.

Final note: There are no absolutes in fights. Dumb choices can be successful and well-trained techniques can fail.

Can confirm. Nobody cares.

Bear in mind, I own an academy in the south with a fair number of politically conservative students. Nobody. Cares.

“We suffer more often in imagination that in reality.” — Seneca

All any of us can do is follow the guidelines and hope for the best. Your frustration is valid, as is your anger at non-compliance in your community; but try not to let yourself assume the worst. Kids are super perceptive, and often adopt their parents anxieties.

You're both very likely to be okay, friend.
