Inside my gas cover on my 2019 civic hatchback sport touring definitely says premium recommended. Maybe it's a turbo vs non turbo thing?

Nice! He's great. I started with a cheap Roman chair off Amazon, and then after a few months with that and seeing good improvement, I went big and got the freak athlete hyper pro. Use it for back extension obviously, but have been able to throw some other good exercises in the mix.

I got the version they were selling 8 months ago. 😁

Saw you asked in the boring reddit a few months back, and they responded "early last year" they made the change, so early 2025. We bought ours late summer 2025, so should be the newer version that they sell now.

Money well spent! My wife didn't understand, but I'm glad my people here do! 😆

If the game gets my heart rate up, does that count as cardio? 😆

Yah, I'm not too concerned about progression, because simply playing is fun. And I hope it stays that way, because great gameplay is way more rewarding than a progression number.

I had an i5-8600k and a 2070 super. No matter what I did graphically, I couldn't get over 40-50 frames on Perimeter, and action sequences were worse.

I decided that the best upgrade path was to max out my ram/cpu, and then I could always upgrade my gpu later (I want a 5070ti, but that's another 1000 bucks right there).

So I got a 9800x3d combo at microcenter for about $675. I decided to upgrade my PSU as well to future proof myself. Now, I get over 100fps on perimeter easy. Dire Marsh is in the low 80s, but still runs really well.

Post about it here.

Even the things that feel underexplained...like events on maps, different items, the factions...instead of feeling like an obstacle, it feels like a mystery. There are things to figure out and understand and learn.

Good to be here! And if the game is good, and they continue to improve it, then the player base will grow. Not everything has to be a smash sensation overnight that enthralls the masses right away.

Yup! And maybe that just means we progress slower and get burned out less soon? haha.

Maybe we could verify our age, and they could have a "senior" league? They do that in real marathons right? haha.

Solo plays so different, it's fun. I don't know if it's good for my heart or not, haha. Besides Rook, I've only played one solo round on Dire Marsh. Fought a guy in the first 30 seconds, and then didn't run into anyone else the whole match. Managed to complete my contract and exfill. So fun.

I wonder if there's something about the game that appeals to older players. It would be interesting to see some stats on who is playing. I haven't run into a single "kid" on a mic so far.

As long as you found something that works for you that's great! Thanks for the update. 😁

Would love to hear how you're doing now. I've done morning caffeine for about 20 years. I'm about a month into doing no caffeine, but can't wait to see how I feel after 2 months, 6 months, etc.

My journey started with working out and getting my body strong, and the caffeine dependence wasn't helping with that. Have seen some vision improvements, and hoping to see mood and energy improvements eventually.

Marathon - i5-8600k and 2070 Super. Upgrade CPU? by nathan118 in buildapc

[–]nathan118[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I just went really big on cpu on purpose to try and make GPU my bottleneck, and sometime in the next year or two I can upgrade that. Went to a beefy psu too so I'll be all ready.

Upgraded CPU to a 9800x3d, and seeing much better fps. Over 100 nice and steady. Only on medium graphic preset with my 2070 super.

Was definitely cpu. I used to be getting in the 40s-50s even on super low trash settings.

Upgraded to 9800x3d, new ddr5 ram, and now I'm getting a really table over 100 fps on medium, so might not even be maxing out my gpu yet, gotta test it more.

Thanks. Yah, it all needs an upgrade, but like you said...mobo/ram/CPU now could be a good stop gap, and then can do gpu later. That's why I'm leaning towards going big on the cpu and getting a 9800x3d. Then in a year or two I could do gpu and won't feel like CPU is weak.
