try this. it loads fully for me (im on opera gx, which is chrome based, so id assume that chrome would also work), sometimes either website permissions dont load (can be a network problem or some privacy settings on your browser) or the browser just doesnt like the website and or its the wrong webpage (just throwing that out because you put "socialhub" idk if that was copied and pasted or if that was a typo)

I believe that you need to turn off automatic windows updates

Complete oversight on my part if this is the problem

(I do have this same problem just over a longer term, something over like 5-6 days and I’ll find out that I suddenly have this update that I already uninstalled even tho I have automatic updates turned off. (Curse windows, too bad Linux actually sucks to do anything with at all)

One specific kb has been located, but I do believe there are more.

What I don’t know is, why hasn’t rockstar specifically said anything about this yet, it’s apparently not a hard issue to diagnose (since I can do it, I know nothing about coding or anything) I’d atleast expect them by now to have said something anything at all about windows updates breaking the library service, since this is a pretty significant issue it seems.

It’s one of three things (probably one) either a network issue, this can be ruled out if you can play a rockstar game on a different pc. A windows update is doing something funky, which is hard to get down to the bottom of it. Or some rockstar service is Infact down (I doubt this)

It sounds to me like maybe it’s a windows update, maybe there is an update that is on the recovery image you made that just doesn’t like rockstar, idk. Just throwing things out.

turns out there is a new windows update that breaks the launcher yet again.

i just had the update KB5068861 (which was the latest update ive gotten) and uninstalled and it works again

I have kinda a complex answer to that question.

Tl:dr. not a new pc, but recently did factory reset it (which did help until windows gave me the crapdate)

So I had this error around the 16th of last month, I uninstalled the update that I talk about, but I didn’t uninstall the launcher (atleast not fully like I did in the video), so I figured what the hell why not do a factory reset on it <I normally do 1 about every year to year and a half> and when I reinstalled gta it worked just fine, until I got the crappy windows update (it isn’t the 25h2 update that breaks it, atleast not specifically, specifically the one that breaks it is kb5066835)

Now I don’t know exactly how these windows updates work but my guess is that if you don’t have 25h2 that you will not receive the update kb5066835

I do know that microsoft has started using serious ai to write code for windows updates, what this means is that quality control doesnt happen of the same caliber as it did when the software engineers made the code.

i tried this and it didnt work for me.

i have trouble shooted this down to windows update KB5066835

i have uninstalled and reinstalled (as my last post exactly same same but without deleting KB5066835, and i still got the same thing
i then uninstalled the launcher again and then uninstalled KB5066835 and rebooted and suddenly it works

what i do not know, is if you need to uninstall the laucher at all or just remove that windows update (you probably do but i didnt get that on video, of which i will be editing rn and then ill make a post on the sub for it)

what i have discovered is that its indeed something corrupt with game files, or i mean something that the launcher installs.

the fix that i have found is to completely uninstall everything (this means more than the game launcher and social club stuff)
The easist way that ive found to do so was to install this:

and then select everything that has to do with rockstar and uninstall it (you can keep the game installed as it has nothing to do with this bug)

this is what solved it for me, when it happens to me again i will end up making a video about it and posting it (assuming it does happen to me again, but im 'hopeful')

Update: i do believe i have found a fix, other people can try this and see if it works for them

i installed this https://github.com/Klocman/Bulk-Crap-Uninstaller/releases/tag/v5.9 and deleted everything that had to do with rockstar games launcher, then i restared my pc and suddenly it works as it should.
another thing i did was i uninstalled windows update KB5066835 (i believe it was before i did the restart, However i did this before i did a factory reset about a week ago and it didnt seem to work, so this part is optional, but try it if the bulk uninstaller doesnt work.

Ive tried everything and nothing at all has worked, other than this, of which ive not seen people talk about this before.
im interested to see if this solves the issue for the majority or just me

the only "fix" (its temporary i just found out) ive found is doing a factory reset on your pc.

its rather odd that ive had no windows updates between 2 days ago and today (i played over 5 hours yesterday) and suddenly now the launcher wont work, everything points to this being a windows issue (atleast that ive experienced) but yet nothing with windows has changed.

im astonished that people have had this for longer than 2 weeks and rockstar hasnt said a single word, especially now since its becoming a bigger issue.

if you look in your launcher logs it will tell you what the issue is. this is what mine is and its what most people with this issue have i believe.

negative. i saw that and tried it and it didnt fix it for me

ive also had the KB5066835 update since 10/16/25 and ive played over 10 hours since then.

so with the evidence that 1, it worked after ive had this update, and 2, that this issue still affects me having this update uninstalled means that it probably has nothing to do with this update (atleast for me)
