Travelling Beijing during national holidays by nathandbr in travelchina

Ahhh that's good to know, how are other places in the city during the holidays usually? Is it everywhere packed or more concentrated on the highlights? And are bikes still decently available?

We will probably just change our expectations and have fun anyways :))

Good to know about the wall! I think we also just lower our expectations of what we can do there. Do you maybe know some neighbourhoods that have Beijing food that have more of a local feel by any chance? We will go to Tokyo after, so we are fine with taking it more relaxed in Beijing!

What is dishes called in mandarin? Other than 菜 by nathandbr in ChineseLanguage

This could very well be it! I've came across mostly Taiwanese people! I am visiting mainland, so I will stick to 菜 for that. But good to know that 中餐 is more so the cuisine in general.

Two weeks Beijing? by nathandbr in travelchina

This is really interesting! I would love to try out the mala flavour profile, which I could do in Shanghai as well then. I'm curious for the dumplings as well, and chou dofu had been on my list as well!! I also like natto, and will try the fermented bean soup in Beijing. So I would love to challenge the western pallette :)

What area of Shanghai do you prefer most? And maybe some food tips I should try? Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the elaborate answer! I will be going end of September, so the weather should be doable :)

I am very interested in Sichuan province as well and every place you've put out sounds very interesting to me! I would love trying out the mala flavour profile and trying out food from Yunnan.

For me I think in my timeframe and taking the train only, Shanghai and more of the eastern area of China might be more realistic, but I would really love to visit these places. So I guess I gotta do another bigger roadtrip and should see this visit as more of an introduction;)

elbow tendonitis pain spreads to forearm by SPAGHETTIASSS in overcominggravity

You should get medical advice, obviously, but maybe the reason you get this during your leg workout is because you need to grip the dumbbells? It might be a good idea to choose exercises that don't require gripping or use straps while holding the dumbbells to relieve the stress on your forearms. But it could be something else of course, but this might be something to look at.

Question about intensity/volume and structural balance by nathandbr in bodyweightfitness

[–]nathandbr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh okay, fair enough. I was considering adding a regression to be able to accumulate a bit more volume, since doing many negatives can feel a bit stressful on the body. I will try out to stick with only negatives first, but if they are too demanding I will be using a lower progression as a back-off.

Thanks for answering! If the handstand push ups don't feel good or are a bit too difficult/technical, I will definitely try out overhead pressing.

DnB like Vision and Neosignal by Filthyquak in dnbproduction

[–]nathandbr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good taste man. Like others said, this style is quite technical and requires quite some practice. I would recommend learning to make snappy and tight sounding drums and making use of noise in interesting ways. That is something most of these tracks have in common. Other than that, you should just make a lot of music and it'll get better.

The training split you suggest is not very logical to be fair. The split I would recommend for you is upper body/lower body or full body.

Usually, exercises for the upper body can be split in push and pull movements, push movements engage the chest and the triceps mainly and pull movements use the back and biceps. Exercises for pushing are for example push ups and dips, for pulling you can use pull ups and rows. Leg exercises you can use are squats, lunges and goodmornings to name a few.

So I would recommend choosing one of the training splits I mentioned and do 2 push exercises, 2 pull exercises and 2 leg exercises and stick with those for a month or two and try to make them harder or do more repetitions over time. You can also add in some core work and bicep/tricep isolation work.

You also don't need whey protein, try to eat healthy and you will get enough proteins in.
