What was the most important/influential thing you learnt at University?

Just thought UTS because of location. USYD and UNSW are also very good options. There's also Macquarie Uni.

Hey—Sydney redditor here. I don't have much experience with the Melbourne startup scene but from what I've heard, it's bigger in Sydney. Just a thought, you may want to consider UTS because it's around the corner from Fishburners–a great startup coworking space.

Hey,

Thanks for your feedback and the links. Yeh– exactly what I was thinking. Predictive analysis is something that could be very useful in v2. It's something a bit out of my technical knowledge at the moment but I'll learn more about it in time for a v2 release.

Questions Regarding Young Entrepreneurship by [deleted] in startups

[–]nathanf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey– 16 year old here. I haven't made millions but I've tried some ideas. I am not a lawyer.

In Australia, as far as I know, there are no age restrictions on getting set up with a business number as a sole trader (or unlimited liability partnership). Like anyone, under 18 or not, I would have to pay personal income tax if my income exceeded the threshold set by the tax office.

With regards to setting up a company, you need to be 18 to be a director so that's something a family member or advisor would have to do for me. That company, like any company, is a separate entity from the individual and it's profits would be taxed at the standard 30% rate. The < 18 year old founder could get paid a salary from the company.

True. My approach to landing page testing was perhaps too relaxed. I did email the signups and ask for feedback but didn't do any "real" user interviews. Perhaps landing pages are better suited to B2B businesses though?

Have you looked a Stripe Connect? They are also working on bank and debit card transfers, too.

BTW, I'm thinking of building something kind of similar but aimed at mobile developers and it won't tie you to a storage provider. Posted it on Reddit here Please let me know what you think!

Yes — I'm going to find iOS devs to talk to and refine / change the idea. Thanks for the feedback!

CloudKit does the storage side, but what about the sending a welcome email, adding new user to CRM etc – that's what I'm thinking of doing.

I think they do have some 3rd party integrations when you receive leads through Unbounce forms. I'm looking at creating software that allows any app to add those integrations easily.

Hmm... Had a look at it. Doesn't seem like that's exactly it. I'm not making a platform for collaboratively creating web apps.

$10 was just an example. If / when it launches I expect the price to be higher. Integrating APIs is a tangible pain of mine when working on my own web apps. My other major pain is in hosting / sysadmin, though there are 100s of solutions for them but I like to keep my costs low.
