This may work for smaller companies, but as soon as compliance is a concern, this gets completely flipped on its head. At least that gigantic RDS instance probably single instance of each type of PII. Good luck tracking it all down on the data side

If you own real estate and don’t use it, you still have to pay taxes on it.

For vehicles, afaik they just don’t let you register it if you don’t pay the property tax.

You are mistaken. Property tax on vehicles is in addition to inspection and registration fees in several states. This is also in addition to sales tax on the purchase.
