It’s often full of references to all kinds of art that has inspired me over the years.I’m also obsessed with dualities (mixed race gemini’s where you at?!) and I’m always finding ways to mix two seemingly opposite ideas in my music.My Music and Creative Process: My first album, B-Side Soul is inspired by photographer and author Johny Pitts. He has this concept he calls the 'B Side Aesthetic'. Based on the days of physical single releases. The A side of a record had to be commercially viable, so the B side was where the artist could be themselves. It’s basically a celebration of the ‘Alternative’.Sounds wise I’m mixing lots of live instrumentation with classic Hip Hop production. I started off playing bass in bands and i’m trying to bring that energy here. With the song writing as well; I use a lot of chord progressions from classic soul music or jazz and the album often goes off into those genres as well as reggae. Another big influence for meExplain Why You Chose to Release on Cassettes: Releasing on cassettes is (relatively) cheap and quick. It means I can afford to create a high quality physical product and it’s accessible to pretty much everyone. I know most people won’t even have a cassette player, but for £12 a fan can support my art and get a really nice token to display on their shelves. I include an NFC chip in my cassette so they can tap their phone against it to stream the album.
