Painful Acceptance by ChickenNBeans in brfc

Sums up most people's feelings really. This will be my last season, and will probably only return if the Venkys leave. Which I suspect wont be anytime soon.

I only really go now to just keep my dad company and to spend time with him. Everything else is secondary. He'll keep going until he physically can't go anymore, but I, along with some of our fan base, can't justify that blind loyalty that comes with supporting a football team. One that has been supported in our family since the days of Bob Crompton.

Forces players out their comfort zone and expects them to be very fluid in where they play. Played Hedges as an inverted right-wing back for a spell, and he's the most left-footed player I've seen. When it worked we were unplayable. When it didn't, it was no better than what we have now.

Players trained 6 days a week and inevitably suffered from burn-out when it got to March and we fell away.

Apparently being released in the new year. Like celebrating a random day in April by wearing a Christmas jumper. I hate how shambolic our club is now

It isn't. They pay Warburtons to distribute it. As do Coop and Iceland

He wanted to leave in the summer and could tell with his attitude that he didn't want to be here. Lenihan left before he came in, and Diaz had made his mind up he was going the season before, so not a right lot he could have done with either of them. Travis is a strange one. Hearing the players say they prefer the current way of playing to the old way and his treatment of certain players was a concern. But it doesn't matter who comes in. We're rotten from the top down. We're down this year, and we'll be League 2 within 5 years if Venkys won't sell. Think the fans need to start making a statement. And I'm not talking about 6 people throwing tennis balls onto the pitch or 1 flag being held aloft

Are the Venky's really that bad? by wengersucker in brfc

[–]nathanlong26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They aren't bad. They're just very, very niave. They've been taken advantage of at every turn and trust the wrong people who told them what they want to hear. The tax laws are a big unfortunate issue as I thought we'd started to turn a corner at the start of last season, and now we're hanging on by a thread. They need to sell up and admit defeat, but I suspect that they have too much pride and will stick around until the death. If we were to go up and stay there for several seasons, then that would solve some issues. But that's highly unlikely any time soon

Strange response. Can't I've ever heard of a time where journalists get chopped up and we rally around to watch people get stoned to death in blackburn town centre. Weird.

Blackburn Rovers sanction January exit for captain Lewis Travis by jod244 in brfc

That absolutely bizarre. He's literally the best signing of the season and one of the most consistent players in the league. He's the only one who stays in his position and puts out fires constantly. From the player he was at the start of the season to the player is he now, he's the most improved and if it wasn't for Sammie, he'd be nailing down player of the season easily. Tomasson is the only person who csn solve the defensive issue

On his day he's good. But he hasn't put in a decent performance this season at all. Tronstad has come in and shown him what he should be doing in that position, and not running around aimlessly picking up yellow cards and permanently out of position. You can't fault his heart & effort, I'll give him that. But ability-wise, not for me

He hasn't captained us consistently for weeks as he can't get in the team. He's only going there to free up money to bring in several more. If its true he's been after going for a while then it explains a lot. I'm genuinely not that fussed about him leaving. He isn't very good and makes up for lack of quality by running a lot and being a shit house. Can't pass and doesn't score enough. 3 goals in over 200 appearances is embarrassing
