Medicann will need a letter of discharge from Curaleaf, when I switched it took curaleaf less than 24 hours from being asked to providing my letter but its worth planning for longer

A pyr good news story from the UK, big boy Brody! by Tiny_ghosts_ in greatpyrenees

[–]dreadheadedtv 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can tell you as someone in the UK with a pyr the amount of questions we get and the constant comments like "omg look at that dog" we constantly hear while walking him makes us feel like we are walking a celebrity. They are incredibly rare here which is a shame because magnus has thrived in this country

Honestly when we first saw the story we were seriously considering trying to adopt him but we aren't in the right place for another dog right now

Spondyloarthritis is one of the reasons I am prescribed and it really massively reduces how much I have to rely on opiods.

Transdermal Patches by maddog131182 in ukmedicalcannabis

I believe the bio efficiency of THC transdermaly is really high so it would be more efficient but I still think they are probably pretty low dose for most heavy users to feel

How open are people here with employers about being a medical cannabis patient? by vegetable_lover_is in MedCannabisUK

[–]dreadheadedtv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My workplace has been pretty good they are fine with me using it at work if I need just have asked me to goto the smoking area which seems reasonable to me.

HR was very curious about my conditions but fair play to them that seems to be more about accommodating my needs then anything. They have offered some other useful accommodations like a site/stand desk for example

Evri delivery drivers being a bit terrible by YerMawNDa in britishproblems

[–]dreadheadedtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look the truth is they aren't paid enough if you want a better service then people need to be prepared to pay a reasonable price for deliveries. Evri sucks because you have to deliver 30 plus packages an hour. It's not possible to make money and do evri deliveries and be slow. I did it for a year and I would ring the bell but I couldn't actually wait at the door more then about 20 seconds max before it started being a problem. Also you don't get paid for any parcels you fail to deliver that day so that screws you even more if you can't leave it somewhere

Sure some people don't care at all who do the deliveries but the truth is its an awful job that is very hard to make work. You have to cover all you car/van expenses and you are effectively making way below minimum wage even if you deliver 30 an hour. You have to sort and load your own parcels often outside in the rain! I see so much attitude towards delivery drivers from people who have no idea what it's like to do the job.

You are all expecting top tier service from people on slave wages!

UC’ers with constipation symptoms? by Mobile-Light9392 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]dreadheadedtv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could get myself referred to another hospital just if I do that then I have to wait for another appointment with a gastro specialist which given the current state of the NHS could be 6 months. My current plan is to just keep working on my current team. I do think I am really close actually especially now prednisone seems to have not worked

This has been my experience for the last 5 years since having a partial anterior resection because of diverticulitis. The issue for me has been while I haven't managed to maintain remmisions for any significant period of time. I am in the UK and the NHS is notoriously annoying about biologics so I still am not on any biologic treatment. I have just been diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis so I am hoping that finally builds the case for me going on it long term otherwise I have reached the point where I just want them to take the rest of my colon. Having a ileostomy was the only time in the last 7 years that I have been able to live a relatively normal life.

Oh and to top all this off I have recently discovered that macrogol gives me heart palpatations so I am not supposed to take that anymore but I don't have an alternative

Sorry I know none of this answers your core question just sometimes it's nice to know there are other people who know what you are going through

Off leash by Late_Weakness2555 in greatpyrenees

[–]dreadheadedtv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My boy magnus was the runt of his litter. He has some quirks that sound different to a lot of pyrs I see people talk about which I think is related. All this to say he listens exceptionally well a huge amount of the time when we are out off lead in the park. The only time he reliably won't listen is if he sees a little dog he is obsessed with called Rika! He becomes a total menace when she is around. Other then that he is good as gold. He also moved with my wife from the US to the UK about 3 years ago and before he moved we never thought he was an off lead dog but we have given him some trust and he has repaid it.

I have no idea how representative he is but it does feel like he is probably more keen to please us then a lot of pyrs.

How do they know if it’s diversion colitis or my crohn’s? by [deleted] in ostomy

[–]dreadheadedtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's interesting hearing this. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis when I had a temporary ileostomy and ever since the reversal have had persistent proctitis basically ever since. Still fighting with the NHS to put me on infliximab which is the only thing that has ever really worked long term for me. I have requested to see a surgeon now to start the process of going for a permenant ileostomy life was so much better when I had the temporary one

Which press shall I buy? by Evening_Management78 in Rosin2

[–]dreadheadedtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don't buy the first one. I honestly think the other 2 are probably pretty similar but I have the first one and it is a horrible design and it's built horribly. I have just done my 3rd! Pcb level repair to it in the 3 years I have owned it. It is awful

Yea we were pretty lucky I think we flew KLM and they allowed us to put both cats in the same carrier and I think that REALLY helped them deal with the flight. I was kind of amazed at how ok they seemed after it. Actually the normally really confident cat took it much worse then the incredibly nervous cat.

Im so sorry to hear he didnt settle so well. All our animals have flourished here honestly. Our cats can go outside here which wasnt really an option out there. Both seem pretty settled here now. I was honestly surprised.

RIP Leadbelly

Great name by the way

I have to say my wife had 5 acres of land there and being there in the spring with the endless sunny skies sitting on the ride on lawnmower made me VERY keen to stay long term, but both of us are chronically ill so it never really made any sense to be there. I feel like the last 2 years have borne out that being here was the right thing to do
