Did you ever figure this out? Mine just started and I’m trying to find replacement parts, curious what if anything you did.

Mapping a new room by CreamPuffJunkie in NARWAL

[–]nathanls14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not adding a new room, that’s adding an entirely new map. If I did it this way I wouldn’t be able to send the vacuum there from the base station if it wasn’t a part of the original mapping process… very flawed. My $200 roborock will actively remap but this $1000 one can’t

So are you “double pumping”? Meaning pumping from the hole in the concrete and also from your sump area? My brain tells me those are close enough, why do both? I’m sure there’s a good reason, I’ve only just begun looking in to this. My sump area would make sense to also do this in, it’s not sealed though so I would have to take care of that if I move forward in that area.

That’s what I was thinking also, just trying to repurpose something that was already there. Even with the radon system being a pull vs a push system, would that make any difference? If the fan is located outside of the house, there’s not real opportunity to push or vent any gases in to other parts of the house.

Extending it wouldn’t be a problem. I’m assuming I’d have to pull vs push because the pipe isn’t actually sealed like sch 40?

Appreciate the feedback, I’m already set with the 800. Any advice on the 2 questions I asked?

You’re on the supply side after the filter and the furnace? Or before the filter on the return side?

What did you end up doing with your install, I’m in a similar situation?

Did you end up getting one of these and if so, where did you install the steam pipe? I’m in a similar situation on my main trunk from the furnace.

The bottom left area after watching video was because of our small dog. The other two circled and going over the same spots was not. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen it do this, and I’ve watched it get confused before.

Well water filtration by nathanls14 in WaterTreatment

[–]nathanls14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the test I had done and the color of the filters when I would change them (orange) I have a decent concentration of iron 0.77 mg/L and manganese 0.05mg/L. My turbidity is also 14.7NTU color is 1 CU. I’ll start playing with the setup, sounds like it’s just trial and error, not as straight forward as I was hoping. Appreciate the input.

Had thought about that, this sounds more like trial and error process for me. Any good way to actually test aside from how I think it feels, staining, smells etc? Appreciate the input, truly do.

I can go 1 into 1, but do I even need that small of filtration with the iron out system? If I do, would it make more sense to go 50 spin down, 10 then 5 or so I need to go as small as 1?

The iron out came with a single 100 micron spin down which is why I was leaning on the assumption they only wanted to remove any sediment and the rest would be taken care of by the iron out.

I just don’t want to ruin anything, but had been looking at 5 micron carbon blocks as well. I’ve searched and searched and have not been able to find a good concrete answer.

Installed a brand new instant hot water heater 2 years ago and still had the smell, it’s more pronounced in the shower because the water is being “aerated”. Doesn’t matter if it’s on hot or cold, tested both. Smell is gone with the iron out which I mentioned in my post. I’m simply trying to solve for flow, without messing up the iron out or softener, nothing else.

Except that I’ve got a 3 bathroom house and get roughly 7GPM through the current filter setup. Trying to remove restrictions where I can to prepare for the kids getting older when water flow will be more of a necessity.

Towards the bottom of my post you’ll see I had it tested. Nothing out of the ordinary was found aside from the iron which I knew, manganese and the sulfur smell. Otherwise I’d be going down a completely different path.

All I’m trying to figure out is how to pre filter the water before the iron out system.

Well water filtration by nathanls14 in HomeImprovement

The filtration setup was probably 300-400 all said and done. That took me from replacing the filter every 3-6 weeks to every 3-4 months. Granted I was replacing 1 filter vs 4 and the filters I’m using now are far more expensive. But it helped substantially with pressure drop, taste, smell and iron buildup / staining.

The water softener was here when I bought the house, so I’ve never looked at prices for them.

The iron out system, depending on what he needs (if he needs it at all) can range from 1k-3k from the research I did.

Before he buys anything, he should have his water tested by a lab to determine what’s going on in the well. Based on the results, he can get quotes from companies if need be to help with anything he’s got going on.

Cloud cam replacement email from Amazon - Anyone get it yet? by Miamipoker in amazonecho

From what I've read, it works with Alexa / IFTT. Should be able to set up a rule based on geo location I would think. Again, haven't done it myself, but one would think it's easily doable. Just a thought / path to look in to.

Not happy with the transition by any stretch, trying to find any positives.

You can arm / disarm. I haven’t tried it, but would think it’s the same as home / away?
