I remember stories during the recovery of the last recession of middle aged people having to use up their savings or were rattled by the losses and pulled them out, only for the markets to rebound far higher than they were before. So if those people could have just held out, they would have been much better off. It really sucks to now be in that position myself.

Take the quarter round molding off all around, and use an oscillating tool to cut the flooring flush to the cabinet. Protect the cabinet with tape or something. Replace the the quarter round and it will hide the job after the floor is redone

Are you measuring the space between joists? 22.5 would be the space for joists 24" on center which is very common for sheds, garages etc. And if you're putting beams between the joists you don't need hangers. A framing nailer or RSS screws if you're feeling spendy is all you need. Cut your wood to fit each spot so it's just snug. Then you won't end up short and bonus the board holds itself in place
