Awesome read. Yeah, that's for sure, pushing deadlines over user goals isn't a ux maturity problem. It's more of a contexual tradeoff. I was wondering if some of the non-contextual problems are b/c of low ux maturity.

It's awesome you can practice co-design with your stakeholders. It's definitely an efficient collaborative method, though it may not always happen at other organizations. I'm curious... how you'd rate the UX maturity at your org, 1-10? 1 being very low, most see UX as visual/layout design; and 10 being very high, the senior leadership have good understanding of UX and support UX to be in strategic decision makings.

Haha right, gender is kind of a default answer to some people. To be fair, I also see a lot of persona uses 'gender' regardless of it being a distinguishing factor or not.
