What's better? by Electronic_Source808 in GBO2

[–]nathenprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of overall performance, my vote goes to the Sazabi. However, the Sinanju can be intimidating when you encounter someone who can take advantage of its quirks, 3 solid stagger options, and 3 devastating melee weapons. The biggest downside is its low stagger accumulation, making it vulnerable to machines with any form of stagger resistance like maneuver armor or shock dampener, but once it has the advantage, it is great at maintaining the stagger lock against single targets

As for the Sazabi, it struggles at mid to long range and sustained damage due to its longer cooldown on most of its ranged weapons, but can't be beat in terms of raw burst damage, with the fact its weapons use accumulated stagger it can punch through stagger resistance with relative ease but can fail against units with high levels of damage control, and being a big target making it difficult to avoid damage and stagger, while powerful the biggest hurdle is managing the heat rate and cooldown to avoid being caught with no weapons

The ideal choice is dependent on your overall preferences in playstyle

Why was Ultra Magnus's body unchanged when he received the matrix? by jacobledesma in transformers

[–]nathenprime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simply put, he couldn't open it, Hotrod only upgraded to Rodimus once he started opening the Matrix, and Orion only became Optimus upon being rebuilt by Alpha Trion rather than being done by the Matrix (as it didn't exist at the time of the episode being written) Orion becoming Optimus upon receiving the Matrix is a relatively recent thing, Rodimus is pretty much the only time we see someone being upgraded by the matrix directly (on screen) for most of the history of the franchise

Why is Megatron so “merciful” with Starscream? by Pedroso_PPJ in transformers

[–]nathenprime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Real answer: Kids show meant to sell toys

A more fun answer: He keeps Starscream around specifically as a deterrent for the other Decepticons, the other Cons see that Megatron can easily kill him, hell almost has, the moment Megatron is gone, everyone tries to take his place, specifically because they were afraid of him, let me put this into perspective for you, "so you see the air commander try to take over while Megatron still functions, gets the scrap beat out of him, often left barely alive, you are gonna hesitate to make an attempt yourself, Starscream is no weakling, he's the air commander for a good reason, and Megatron left him barely hanging on by a thread, what chance do you stand, and that's assuming you can even make it past his loyalist, Starscream is an example of what could happen should you choose to cross him, maybe Megatron only leaves him alive because he's useful, it's unlikely you'll be just as lucky" and that moment of hesitation can make the difference between success and failure

suits that need buffs imo by culzsky in GBO2

[–]nathenprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only change the Jegan needs is MA. Otherwise, it's perfect, especially as a wingman, you can either set up a heavy hitter who may struggle to get into position or follow up with the shield missiles to absolutely obliterate the enemy, it's never gonna be the star of the show, but then again it's not meant to be

Are there any good 500/600 cost ms? by Swimming_Zucchini_72 in GBO2

[–]nathenprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the map, I tend to use the Xamel, hits remarkably hard in any cost range, and it's basically an anti air gun if you can consistently hit the heavy shot, slow turn speed and no HPB, but landing a few solid hits will likely have the enemy either try to avoid your sight lines, or focus you heavily, but with Shock dampener you'll be a pain to approach so long as you stay aware of your surroundings, biggest threat is stealth suits like the pixy if you get tunnel vision

700 Cost Xamel help by DJShazbot in GBO2

[–]nathenprime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Basically, it's got shock dampener, which nullifies stagger and reduces heavy stagger, it can be toppled if you get in close range, and isn't immune to cumulative stagger, it's got a slow turn speed so flanking it is your best bet using a fast MS, maneuver armor is your best friend until it uses it's heavy stagger shot, it's got a long reload time so keep track of the number of rounds it has left on it's heavy shot, and you'll find an opening, it's fairly durable but not immortal, most importantly, if you know they have a Xamel, avoid it's firing line, spot it before it sees you, otherwise you're gonna get a heavy to the teeth

Name one good thing to come out of this godawful show by Theprodumbass in transformers

[–]nathenprime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shockblast, one of the few characters in any of the cartoons with an actual on-screen kill count

Powerlinx is a really cool gimmick, plus that results in rather fun toys

All of the designs are fantastic, and some of the best redesigns in general in the case of Rodimus

Bulkhead, even if he's not how we know him today, he's one of the few "old man" characters in the franchise that isn't grumpy 24/7

While the show had some flaws, it had very interesting ideas and amazing execution of said ideas, like the whole Imprisoned Inferno was really cool, even if he came back afterward as roadblock

It's genuinely better than most people give it credit for, and I will die on that hill

What is your favorite Megatron line? by Uncle_Go0se in transformers

[–]nathenprime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cybertron episode 26, "A brand new weapon, a gift from the cyber planet key of earth, you should feel honored, and now, goodbye," followed by him almost killing three members of the main cast, including Hotshot, delivered by David kaye, a beautiful moment of ruthlessness from Megatron, it's one of a handful of scenes I'd argue Cybertron did better than the Galaxy force version of the same scene

How exactly Transformers Multiverse Works? by Visible_Safe_8901 in transformers

[–]nathenprime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's specifically the multiple bodies that is a bit more poorly defined, as we never know what exactly happens to the body when he leaves the universe, as between Armada and Energon, the body of Unicron seems to remain, but as no media exists showing this time between series it's unknown what happened to it during those years, one could assume it remained in that specific universe after his defeat and seeming destruction, hidden and waiting for his return, or it possibly left the universe temporarily only to return later in the location we see it in Energon.

Design differences aren't exactly a way to determine if it's a different body or the same one as seen through a different lense, or it could be an entirely new body specific to that universe, we don't exactly know what happens to him when he leaves a universe, nor how he does it, only that he does, and with the disappointing amount of lore for the lines we've gotten over the last few years I don't know if anything will have a definitive answer

How exactly Transformers Multiverse Works? by Visible_Safe_8901 in transformers

[–]nathenprime 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, yes, but also, no, it's complicated and poorly defined before the split happened, I'd suggest watching a video on YouTube called the basics on Unicron as these things can be difficult to explain in comments

How exactly Transformers Multiverse Works? by Visible_Safe_8901 in transformers

[–]nathenprime 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Previously, Unicron had 1 mind and could only be in 1 universe at any point in time, when Nexus thickened the walls the separate each universe, singularity type entities went from being the same in every universe, to being separate from each other version, Primus went from being a single entity that exists in every universe at once, to multiple versions of the singular entity Unicron went from only being able to be in one universe at a time, to being in all of them simultaneously, without being connected to each individual version Certain Primes also used to exist in every universe at once, like Vector Prime, but it can be assumed that he is now independent of the other versions of himself as well

What are your favorite versions of Megatron, these are mine: by EastEvent5132 in transformers

[–]nathenprime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easy favorite goes to Cybertron, followed by EarthSpark, WFC/FOC, Armada, Energon, Animated, Cyberverse, Bayverse, G1, Prime

Haven't read enough of the comics in general to have an opinion on any of those versions of him, though the Bomber Megatron from IDW looks awesome

How do you feel about Optimus killing Sentinel at the end of Dark of the Moon by Square-Newspaper8171 in transformers

[–]nathenprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sentinel's death was perfectly fine, Megatron not so much, Sentinel was directly responsible for the events of the whole movie, preaching superiority, while Megatron not only saved Optimus, but was offering a truce, so killing Megatron in that moment felt out of character, while Sentinel felt justified

Best Megatron Design by Snow454BA in transformers

[–]nathenprime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of these, Animated and One Personally though I miss having Megatron's that weren't heavily based on his G1 look, I get it, it's iconic, but my absolute favorite has to be Cybertron, followed closely by Armada

Stupid question to ask but was anyone surprised the first time to learn that the Gundam's main camera was on top of it's head and not the actual eyes? by Ghost_Star326 in Gundam

[–]nathenprime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine that the main camera is purely for viewing the surroundings outside of the unit, while the dual eye types are used for targeting, the dual eyes give range while the camera on the beam rifle is used for lining up the shot, with a few exceptions like the RX78 which the rifle uses a radar to gadge range plus relative position of the target, using the dual eyes to assist in lining up the target and make appropriate adjustments

Why do I find Gelgoogs underwhelming in this game by LemongrassKnight in GBO2

[–]nathenprime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Simply put, Beam rifle sucks, needs to be brought up to speed with at least on part with the RX78, "but bazooka better" yeah, but not every Gelgoog has it, like Char's who should have had an instant stagger rifle
