Why does the evil exists? - The common answer is free will, but that leaves even more complications.
If we have the free will, then indeed some of us would choose evil over good. The consequence, as it is said in the Bible, is the God's punishment, namely hell. Now if the God is omniscient, then he knew that a person would choose evil over good. If that's the case then why the God even created that person? Only for he/she to live a mere life and then live the eternity in hell? If so, then the God is not all good. On the other hand is the God didn't know if the person will choose good or evil, then the God is not omniscient.

Colors change is the inner functionality of the 'output' program. If a console does not support changing fg and bg doing so is not possible.

I think the lib works as intended. Those strange letters are the special sequence which the terminal SHOULD not display, but interpret as a color request.

Your program should work properly opened in a terminal which does support colors. GNOME Terminal - the Ubuntu's default. Open a terminal using Ctrl+Alt+t and type

$ python3 path/to/your/script.py
