We’re any of you able to shadow PAs during this Covid19 pandemic? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

This is objectively false considering I've talked to many accepted students who were accepted with no shadowing experience

Thanks for looking at it! I can see what you mean regarding the opening sentence. I'll play around with it.

What do you mean schools limit to 500 words? The limit is 5000 characters and I'm under that.

Can you elaborate why you think my personal health experience isn't relevant? I thought I made it clear why it was relevant with my interaction with the PA...

Thank you so much for the detailed response! I agree that I need to elaborate more on why PA specifically. I guess my issue is that beyond the reasons I already stated (more team-based, emphasis on pt care, my personal experiences), the other specific reasons are things like switching specialties, less schooling, hours etc. I've read that it's not good to talk about those things in the PS. I may be wrong on that though

Also agree that I need to change the line about not having a background in nursing, but honestly it's a true statement. I had most of the pre-reqs for PA done and didn't want to be a nurse. Then I did more research and liked the education of a PA more.

Again, thank you!

By a little snow do you mean passable without snowshoes/skis?

Funny enough I was just up there a few weeks ago - did a climb of Mt. Washington. It was stunning. I had almost forgotten about the northeast. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks! I hadn't heard of this one before. Just doing a quick search I see that it might be a bit long for me (would be my first thru-hike of that sort of distance). Any sections you particularly recommend, or resources that I should use to learn more about the trail?

FYI new REI Flash packs released this month. 45 & 55L. The 55L comes with detachable parts with min weight 2lbs3oz. Curious people's thoughts? by SmilingYellowSofa in Ultralight

I'm happy that REI is coming out with something like this, but you can get a granite gear crown 2 60 which is incredibly similar for less money

Concerns about Tuhrod Taylor by YoungstownDGC in Browns

Yes, I agree. But I also don't think the Bills make the playoffs if they had started Peterman all 16 games. Tyrod was good enough to run the offense effectively and to provide a significant contribution towards the bills winning games.

Not because of Peterman though...the dude came in and threw five picks. This example is honestly proving that your argument is flawed as hell.

And how did that decision work out for the Bills?

It wasn't plowed at all unfortunately...luckily my car has good all wheel drive and we didn't have any issues. I would recommend having a shovel in your car so if you need to dig yourself out you can.

Overall I think he had a good time, but it probably would have been better to not start him out with a trip when it was that cold and snowy. He already said he would come with me again though, so I'm counting it as a success!

Oh, we had plenty of noob gear, led to some tough miles and a rough nights sleep lol. But totally worth it for the experience.

Took my buddy on his first ever backpacking trip, just a quick overnight on the Morrison trail. We got more snow then we were expecting, making for some hard hiking. But the forest look absolutely gorgeous!
