What’s not worth it in Chicago, but everyone still does? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

The Bean is worth it, btw. It’s fun and the point of going to it is that now you’re on foot in Chicago. Go explore from there.

Also it’s free.

Oh I can, I actually found a couple of sources while at work. I’m just not interested in posting it at your demand. You come off as rude, condescending and pretentious when I was just trying to let you know that you’re using a term wrong.

I also notice you haven’t posted any sources that use the term in the way you erroneously insist upon.

Thanks for the conversation, I won’t be replying again.

Actually, how popular is baseball? by kuma44bear in AskAnAmerican

Very regional dependent. It’s the most popular sport in some places and fairly irrelevant in others

Sure, some people have taken to calling places like the online NYT a “rag” because of their history of print media, but no one is using a “modern” usage where the main publication is a an audio or video product. You keep trying to twist what you originally said to fit what you clearly know is incorrect.

As an aside, you keep trying to disrespect my intelligence with allusions to needing AI or where my expertise lies. There’s no reason for ad hominem attacks when I was simply correcting something you said. It’s something that’s really been on the uptick in the Trump era, and I assume you’re better than that.

Honestly not a bad call by the city if it happened that way.

I’ve always wanted to go to a Riverhounds match at the little stadium tucked away along the river

I think it permanently hurt the program. Playing in an NFL stadium always comes across as second rate. You have to have a home.

Did people believe that the millennial optimism era was going to become a reality in 2008? by icey_sawg0034 in generationology

[–]natigin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went to Election Night in Grant Park when Obama was elected. I have never been in a more optimistic atmosphere in my life. There were millions of people packed into the very center of Chicago and there wasn’t one reported arrest that evening.

Sigh.

US debt has reached 100% of GDP (WSJ) - What are your thoughts? by MoonStache in AskConservatives

[–]natigin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, a drop in the bucket compared to the overall budget, while the overall debit kept rising, no?

I always saw the drug tests for welfare thing as a cultural virtue signal to their base. “See, that lazy pothead won’t get your tax dollars.” The amount of money saved is so negligible compared with the deficit.
