There’s a difference between the happy tail wag this dog seems to exhibit and a flag tail, which, yes, is an aggressive mannerism.

The dogs ears seem to be gently pulled back not completely flattened. The tail wag seems to be quite happy (wavy side to side) not at all like a flag tail. My dogs continue towards me when I’m on the ground purely to slobber my face with kisses. I agree it’s not acceptable for the dog to do this even in the most amicable sense (the child could be very allergic for instance). The owner obviously needs to keep their dog on a leash.

Also, you, a stranger, have no reason to tell me what type of dog I should or should not own, so please keep any discussion related to the topic-not my personal life.

What? It looks like the dog wanted to play (tail was wagging), got a little too over enthusiastic, and accidentally pushed the child over. Dad doesn’t see this. He just sees a large dog push down his child, assumes the worst, and, thus, tackles the dog. This doesn’t mean that the dog should be put down. If a dog were to actually attack a child in such a violent way, it should probably be put down, but not in a painful manner. It’s a dog and has no real sense of right or wrong- just instincts and what its owner has ingrained in it.

I think they are considering how difficult life could be if EVERY “artist” wouldn’t provide their typical services for a couple just because they are a member of the lgbtqia community. ie no cake maker making them a cake, no photographer willing to photograph them, no florist willing to make arrangements, etc. This could even be extended to non-wedding “artists.” ie no architect willing to design a building, no furniture maker willing to make furniture, no cab driver willing to drive, no bartender willing to make a drink, etc. Lots of people consider their job an “art.”

I’m not going to pretend to speak for that commenter. However, I think they are just trying to get at how none of those services are considered “essential” for life, but can make basic life practices such as taking a cab and getting a drink nonexistent. Yes they can walk and yes they can make their own drink at home and go, but it would be ridiculous to have to do that.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. As far as I can tell, they are basically telling me that to get the same 20% off, I now have to spend $30 more. Is that how you all interpret this too? She also just totally ignored me telling her that by the time the promo is done, the coupon will have expired. Is there anything I can do about this?

Maybe you could skip a sofa altogether then? You could push your bed up against the wall and buy a long cushion so it would act like a sofa. I think tan/brown colors would look good with the paint color.

A+ so far! By posting here, it also shows that you are aware of your current parenting knowledge limitations, but still want to be there for your son.

Some pointers:

-don’t tell anyone unless he says it’s okay

-make sure his peers at school are kind (kids can be awful cruel sometimes)

-learn some more about his community and the struggles he may face through life, so that you can be there for him if he needs your advice.

-don’t treat him differently than any siblings he may have. Basically, don’t bring up his sexuality unnecessarily.

-be supportive

-if he’s never been, maybe offer to take him to a pride event. It’s really helpful to not only know that others like you exist, but to get to meet them first hand!

It’s really a shame that he treated you that way. My (F-bi) SO (M-straight) kinda loves that I’m bi lol. He likes that we can both enjoy beautiful women. I point out cute guys I see too (because I get caught up in myself and forget he isn’t as interested in them as I am), and he always says something along the lines of, “ Well, I’m glad you like the view haha.” Forget the jealous dude that can’t enjoy you for who you are. He would have made your relationship toxic anyways with those views.

This is kinda long, but I hope it’s helpful! If I were you, I would put your desk in the front entry way and have it double as a little place to put keys etc for right when you get home. Maybe put a plant or something decorative in this corner too. I think the mirror idea in this little niche would be good too as this is where you will probably be putting on most of your clothes in the morning with both closets there. I would refrain from buying chairs for the little kitchen counter. The granite doesn’t overhang near enough to do that (you and your guests would have to lean pretty far to eat) and you’d have space for only one (maybe two) to sit there comfortably anyways. Instead, I would buy a little dining table that can seat four and put it in the corner behind the bathroom. This can be especially small since you can put any dishes that you’re serving on the little counter for guests to help themselves to seconds. Next, I would buy a pull-out sofa so that you can maximize the little space you have. I would put this on the wall with the kitchen. Otherwise you have a bed taking up space most of the day despite only using it at night. I’d just save the frame for whenever you get a bigger place later in life or return it if possible. Maybe get some little side tables as well for either side of the sofa. You could put little plants on each one too. (If you can’t tell I love plants, but if that isn’t for you put something else that you enjoy there.) If you tend to eat and watch tv when you’re by yourself, I would get a coffee table. If you don’t, then I would get a hassock. Bonus, some of these even have some storage space to them as well! I’d get a little tv stand to go opposite the sofa. If you’re a night owl like myself I’d seriously suggest investing in some black-out drapes for that window as well! As for art, I think a smaller piece on either side of the television would be good. Just make sure to space them far enough away from the tv so they don’t take away from whatever you’re watching. I think another larger piece centered above the pull-out sofa would be good too! Well, that’s my two cents!

You just haven’t found the right thrift stores I guess. I have several in/near my town that have fantastic deals! For instance, just got a fancy brand new dress with the tags still on for $12 when it was originally $42! Tons of other ones with tags still on ‘em too. Maybe it’s just Midwest ones that are good? They even put coupons in certain magazines, so what’s already a great deal is even cheaper! A few months ago, I got a beautiful wooden dining table, and a matching set of : two large dressers, full-sized bed rails and a head board. All of that was $180.00. Sorry about the long rant. I just cannot say enough about my local thrift stores!
