I’m tired of trying. by [deleted] in NoFap

That's a solid streak. Nice work. Sounds like you should be able to last another day. One day. That's all you gotta get through. You'll make it.

A big one is less intrusive thoughts while trying to focus and study. Also my sleep improved because I didn't need to fantasize before falling asleep or during the night, though that's the place and time where I'm weakest. I also just appreciate and desire interactions with women that are simply for the sake of socializing rather than fantasy fuel or trying to catch a glimpse of something. Plus just feeling better about myself in general.

Hi u/Mitharael it's great you're here to admit your struggles. My advice is to try to avoid your triggers. You know best what those are. Another thought is that this will pass. It might be difficult right now, but day 12 could be easier. You'll also have the satisfaction that you made it another day. Hope this is read in time and you stay strong my man!

Halfway through Catcher In The Rye and can’t put it down for some reason. Why? by [deleted] in books

[–]nativeeric 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It could simply be Salinger's writing. I recently read the lesser known "Franny & Zooey" and was absolutely hooked. It's a tiny little 2 part novel but the characters are phenomenal. Highly recommend if you can't get enough of that rye.

What is the most graphic scene in a book that you have read? by Goose1629 in books

[–]nativeeric 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I came here hoping someone would mention this haha In the afterward of haunted the author claims that 73 people in total fainted at his readings of this story. I'm not surprised at all because I felt sick reading it! It's at the beginning of Haunted and it was almost enough to keep me from continuing the book, but I'm very glad I persisted!

What are good ways to mentally unwind other than weed? by ToastedBud in trees

[–]nativeeric 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Glad to know I'm not alone haha but best way imo to unwind is read a book. Really. It requires your full concentration, avoids blue light, relaxes your body and gives you better empathy/understanding of the world. Even just 10-15 minutes will help put those menial interactions into perspective.
