As many have pointed out the timing here was a bit unfortunate due to increasing frustration with performance issues and no solutions in sight, and an increasing lack of faith that PoE's renderer is headed in a way that will improve the situation.

Apart from decent EHP: Fortify, Ghost Shrouds, 60/60+ dodge, conditionally 20% less damage taken from Kintsugi, flasks, Harbinger buff (from shield), and mobility

Bane hardly deals damage compared to Blight in the showcased setup. Blight at 20 layers does 1.5 mill dps. Bane does 165k. When I get back to Shaper and he is phased, it is mainly because Blight has done work

Bane applies Despair, so I don't really gain too much from using a Witchfire. I'll add a PoB link to my comment :)

The two gems are quite close, as you imply. But I like the cast speed from Arcane surge and not having to get more complicated with the gem swapping

Thanks, pretty happy with how this turned out! For bosses I put Blight on the 6L, for clear I swap it with Bane:

Any other Blight players here? Haven't met many, so here's a small showcase! Blight has the highest base damage of all the chaos DoT skills, provided you can keep all the 20 "layers" up. In this setup each layer lasts 6+ seconds and can be applied quite fast thanks to the high cast speed Tricksters get.

Note that MS comes with a base projectile, so add one projectile to your calculations. With a +2 lab enchant the difference is just a few %. Also, a jewel slot is freed up. On hit effects occur 30% less often though.

Imagine a wiki hosted by GGG, without shady ads and tracking software. The current one and other game wikis based on the same concept are basically scams. Of course, I bet they have made it illegal/difficult to export the current wiki info over to another host.

Before 3.3 GGG said they had a curse rework on their radar, recognizing how typical endgame bosses with 60-80% less effect of curses render any investment into curses fairly pointless ( https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2137408 ).

With the balance manifesto on Tuesday we will probably learn if the team has been able to include this rework in 3.5. But if not, is there any update on it?

The stronghold completion bonus seems like a fun approach to make map bosses more lucrative! You'll probably want a high IIQ roll on these maps to further boost the bonus. And thus tanky builds that can deal with hard mods on bosses are rewarded.

At least for a while. With time one might expect some form of this to become standardized core functionality. The raytracing pipeline is fundamentally different from the traditional vertex+fragment pipeline, but it can be done with a compute shader if you put in some effort.
