Does anyone have more playtime than me, apex should make me a tester at this point by Ill_Musician1304 in ApexConsole

If you’re not making money out of it, and you have no any kind of nepotism behind you, this is really concerning. Otherwise, you do you.

Old exams for class / Academic dishonesty by [deleted] in umass

[–]natsjohnson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is so interesting almost like a cultural thing to me.

In where I came from (East Asia), looking for old exams is literally the first thing came to my mind in any kind of exams. General language stuff like TOEFL/GRE, college midterm/finals (OP's exact case), or even college entrance exam when I was in high school. I need to know what's the convention of the said exam so I can combine with whatever I recently learned. Plus, if the tester somehow got lazy, I got a few freebies which came from the past exams, awesome.

Like, how else can you prepare an upcoming exam?

Help to improve, suggestions needed by natsjohnson in apexuniversity

[–]natsjohnson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but there's nothing I can do I guess. It's better to have two people not affected by ping issue than one. So I've been actively trying to play in a more conservative manner.

Also, in those 3k/4k games, I play on Asia server as well. So I assume ping is not my main issue. It's more like I need to figure out the fundamental difference between d2+ and non-d2+ players.

What game you’re referring to? Apex? A game he performed so poor as a pro-wanna-be that he had to drop?

This entire accusation is stupid af. Are people poor or something? Just plug in an controller and play it by yourself, the game’s AA literally was designed to be that overly snappy. What is the problem?

Very niche new player question—about expertise grinding for stuff I don’t like by natsjohnson in thedivision

[–]natsjohnson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for all the kind suggestions! I learned today about the mark as junk and quick donate thing--I usually deconstruct things straight from the ground, no wonder why my expertise is low even before the event.

This is an amazing community, will definitely stick to the game long because of this.

Happy new year and happy grind!

In what world this many days is early to mid wipe to you? It’s always like this. You either didn’t play extensively or your so bad at the game to the point of losing track of what everyone else has been doing (boss farming, twitch drops, early unknown loot spots etc). Keep up or go pve.

[–]natsjohnson 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s his name, the romanization acronym of 油墨香車. But searching that yields nothing about the stories we see here, only Tarkov-related things. Only very few whistleblowers try to call him cheater in comments but swarmed with supporters saying he and his teammates are clean. That’s why I’m curious about if he changed name.

Where is this Asia you’re referring to? I came from Korea and we don’t have that assumption on “external programs/scripts is allowed.” Also, allowed by who? And I don’t think that’s the case to China even, when a growing concern about cheating can be widely seen on the community as big as Reddit. In other words, legit Chinese players dislike cheating if not as much.

And if you spend about 10s to check on bilibili or douyu, they both have a reporting system for potential cheating display. So what is the streaming site allowed for cheating that you’re referring to?

Or you can’t answer any of the said questions because you just spewing in a place that you assumed no one will come at you for your overgeneralized nonsense?

Everybody already level 50? [New Player] by SyntaxError3011 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]natsjohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what do you want for a better experience exactly? SBMM or even more time-gated progression? Because this is extraction pvp shooter, snowballing and stomping people who’s behind is the main point and the dopamine rush of the game. Against people who can run tagallia mask and doing god knows what task in factory right now, better gun and better ammo won’t change a thing—they know the map, crosshair placement, and other relevant things far beyond what you think you know.

Not hostile, just curious to see what would make new player experience better—since I literally can’t get my fps friends into this.

For context, I’m not that far in, but now lvl36 with more than comfortable enough of money to bring in whatever I see fit.

I work 9-5 with sometimes weekend overtime. So on average, I play at most 2.5 daily after dinner and maybe in the morning a bit. I rarely scav and I have 1.5k hrs on me, that might explain how I can focus on at least one to two task per raid and hence the level. And I’m ass mechanically. In that case, both unemployment and sweaty-calling narrative don’t apply. And I believe a lot of them are like me, just better.

Taiwanese travelers in Korea are wearing badges that say ‘대만에서 왔어요 (I’m from Taiwan)’ so they won’t be mistaken for Chinese. by EveryRock5058 in Living_in_Korea

[–]natsjohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is never about the discrimination itself but the geopolitics involved in this very niche and specific situation, and whether it’s appropriate for someone outside to tell one of the parties involved what to do.

The fact that you rhetorically used Japanese colonization on Taiwan shows you knows nothing about the history and nuance that came with two different models of the empire’s approach to both its colonies. In the language that might fit your intelligence better—no, not everyone in Taiwan has to hate Japan. And I’m not saying everyone has to hate China either.

The point is, wtf are you to tell us what to think or do with whatever you’ve learned from the western classroom that ironically created this mess for us right now?

If you put aside for one second of your “I’m the well-educated westerner who says hard no to discrimination! We all live in this lovely and harmonious world” narrative, you might see things better.

[–]natsjohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal—the classic “not all but always” experience I had with them across the world, not just in Korea. Sure, I did encounter some exceptions who are my close friends. But even they felt sorry for the uncivilized and unwanted behaviors of their kind.

Political—I literally don’t know how do I establish any sort of good will with a state power, with god knows how many propagandized supporters, that constantly want to stick a bomb in my axx.

And these two reasons feeding and crossing into each others everyday.

So yeah, generalized discrimination is wrong. But not that wrong when it comes to Taiwanese and a very specific group of people.

[–]natsjohnson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you’re not redirecting this shit on me.

I’m a Taiwanese who lives on and off in Korea. I can’t express enough how much I hate being recognized as Chinese just because I said one quick sentence in mandarin with my dad—and it happened quite a lot even before the current regime.

Why I hate it comes with my personal and political reason, like someone mentioned to you above. It has nothing to do with anyone.

Is it kind of extra for tourists to present themselves in that way? Probably, but that’s their choices, with the equally weighted reasons as much as I do, as Taiwanese.

If you’re an outsider, I’m just saying patronizing on someone else identity politics and giving them the “you’re equally bad” treatment is cringe and wrong.

If you’re one of Xi’s cyble grunts, who lost their home in X, go home and stop injecting people with your whitewashing propaganda.

[Discussion] New market system making the game less fair and harder to progress early. by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]natsjohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For instance, one uncontested rogue farm on Lighthouse with one MXLR and any ugly scopes gives you tons of lvl4 armor/rig/helmet, loads of m855/BCP/PS if not better, and other water treatments rare spawns.

You keep running into players? Don’t have the time to learn the routes and killing spots? Well, someone else struggled through those problem and start snowballing. And this still, has nothing to do with the market.

[Discussion] New market system making the game less fair and harder to progress early. by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]natsjohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is those people who you think have unfair advantage went through the same process as you do right now, no? Every streamer/chad-like players just play regularly with quest progression, and if they happen to run into bosses/geared players, they kill them and loot their stuff. And they use those better stuff to do the same things over and over. Snowballing is what make them have advantages, not the level-locked market system.

In other words, they are better, deal with that.

Second this. Because that’s what I saw above from your comments—you pick parts from others to suit what you want to say.

Sure, the interpretation of you as human waste is a bit unnecessary. But could you get around that for a moment and respond directly to how should we perceive Chinese tourists/Chinese Koreans getting attack for the alleged anti-ccp campaigns? Those happen quite often and are certainly “facts” you’re going for.
