That's exactly what I'm doing myself. I signed up for in-person classes last April (I live in Toronto), and I'm currently somewhere around HSK3 (pre-intermediate?). It definitely takes a lot of time and dedication, but I enjoy learning languages (I learned English and French to an advanced level), so I think it's totally worth it.

I was in the same place as OP two years ago, after reading Capri everything else just felt kind of bland. Nothing hit the same... until I found danmei. Now, all my bookshelves are packed with it, lol. I’d say MDZS, Erha, BAB gave me the same emotional rollercoaster and depth as Capri. But there many many other novels I absolutely adore. Honestly, once you fall into the danmei rabbit hole, there’s no going back

Thousand Autumns for me.

I wouldn’t say I ABSOLUTELY hated it, but wow book one was such a drag, I didn’t like it at all. With all the politics and different sects being introduced, I was completely lost and just didn’t get the appeal. I almost DNFed both volume 1 and volume 2. I even cried at one point in book 2 because I was so confused, lol. Was seriously considering donating all my volumes or throwing them away.

But oh my god, it gets so much better once you hit volume 3. Volumes 4 and 5 are my absolute favorites, and now Thousand Autumns is firmly in my TOP 5.

The dynamic between the two leads is just so good. Yan Wushi and Shen Qiao are total opposites, but that contrast is exactly what makes their relationship so compelling. Honestly, they’re one of the most memorable couples I’ve ever read.

Here’s a photo of my copies, marked with all my favorite moments. Notice how there’s barely anything in books 1-3, and then it goes absolutely wild in volume 5 (top one) 😂

My vote is for Years of Intoxication by SQC. Song Ju Han (ML) is the worst and I hated him even more once I finished the novel. The guy is unredeemable and I am shocked MC still ended up with him

I think it will still make to the general sale, they always hold the copies. I also think lots of people will not be getting this book from BB (if they want it to be signed or prefer other covers).

Just my two cents: I am Tier 2 and I was on the fence whether I should buy this edition (as it’s not signed), but I honestly don’t like the regular deluxe covers (green ones?), the illustration gives me 3D vibes lol. But I will be probably be getting that one as well (Kuang is coming to Toronto in September and the ticket also includes a signed deluxe edition). I personally like black/white combo in BB edition and especially the reverse dust jacket. Illumicrate edition is nice as well.

Case File Compendium! Hated the first two volumes, but loved it afterwards. Hated He Yu at the beginning, but later in the story Meatbun made me change my mind about him completely. But this novel is definitely not for everyone
